The Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper has wonderful shades of red and green, and our favorite Christmas flower, the poinsettia.

Todays’ card began with a sketch in mind, and I found two Stitched Rectangle Dies ( approximately 1 3/4″ X 3 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ X 1 3/4″) to cut three rectangles from the designer paper. After layering them with card stock for thickness, I glued them to Basic white Cardstock, 3 1/2″ X 4″. Then, I layered the Basic White Cardstock on Evening Evergreen Cardstock, 1/8″ larger, giving it a 1/16″ border.

Christmas Poinsettias

Prior to gluing, I embossed the card front of the Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. In order to do this, I couldn’t put it through the Stamp N’ Cut and Emboss Machine fold first, the way you are supposed to, but it worked okay.

To add further interest, I used Paper Snips to hand cut a poinsettia from the Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper, and attached it with Dimensionals.

“Merry Christmas” is from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set, stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink, cut with the Double Oval Punch, and attached with the Poinsettia on Dimensionals.
