Queen Anne's Lace Alternative

Queen Anne’s Lace is so pretty, and because the stamp set is FREE with September’s ULTIMATE STARTER KIT, I was eager to try an alternative design. You’ll find details of the ULTIMATE STARTER KIT below.

Queen Anne’s Lace

I began by pulling together the same colors that are in the “Get & Go” Starter Kit Promotion: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, and my favorite, Whisper White. Have you noticed that white makes all colors look yummy?

First, I stamped the colored portion of the flowers in Coastal Cabana Ink in the two corners. Next, I stamped the detailed flowers in Granny Apple Green Ink on top. I tried it the other way around, but liked the results better in this order. You have to be okay with it not matching exactly, and I like the artistic flair it gives. There’s a picture of the stamp set in my Product List, which will help with my explanation.

The Whisper White Cardstock is 4″ X 5 1/2″, a quarter inch longer than the usual layer, to accommodate the Ornate Layers Die, which I used after stamping the flowers.

The card base is Coastal Cabana, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, with a Daffodil Delight strip across the middle. This touch of yellow cardstock is 4 1/4″ X 3/4″, and embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment, “Celebrating all the wonderful things about you!” in Bermuda Bay Ink, and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting. A second Ornate Frames Died was used for the fancy frame. After gluing the two together, I attached the sentiment between the flowers with Dimensionals.

My layout was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.
