It’s October 1st, World Card Making Day, and Fall is in the air!  See more on World Card Making Day below.

For today’s card, I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Crumb Cake Cardstock. Prior to gluing the layer, I embossed it with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, and used the second largest Deckled Rectangles Die for cutting.

Ranunculus Blessings

Next, using Hues Of Happiness Designer Paper and Ranunculus Dies, the flower was cut from a yellow section, and the leaf was cut from a green section. To represent the tissue-like quality of the flower, I added a sprig cut from Vellum Cardstock.  After twirling the detailed cut of the flower to match the solid cut, I glued them together, and placed the flower on Dimensionals.

I love this sentiment from the Hope & Peace Stamp Set, “God’s blessings to you.” You can see the entire set in my Product List below. I usually stamp the sentiment first, but this Eden Die is solid, so I cut first, and stamped second, using Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock.

After attaching the leaf and sprig with glue, and the sentiment with Dimensionals, I added three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.

Although Ranunculuses are a springtime flower, this is a card I will send for Thanksgiving.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.
