I had a wonderful Thanksgiving break, and I hope you did too. Now, I’m excited to get back to my craft room! To get me off and running, I’m starting with The Paper Players challenge.
I’m beginning with a Thick Whisper White card base. I spent a small amount of time cutting and scoring these while on vacation, so I have a good supply on hand. I’m layering this with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, and I’m using a Card Front Builder Die to cut the pretty border. Uh oh! I see it’s slightly crooked, so next time I’ll be more careful. We can blame it on the Big Shot. Right?

Santa’s Sleigh Reindeer
Sticking with the Paper Player’s sketch, I use my Layering Oval die to cut a piece of red and white, Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper. And, I use a Stitched Shape die to frame it in Whisper White. The reindeer from Santa’s Sleigh is no stranger to me. He was on many of my cards last year, and remains one of my favorites. He will be die cut from Wood Textures DSP with a die cut wreath (from Santa’s Sleigh also) around his neck.
TIP: The wreath goes over the reindeer’s head with just a tiny bend of his nose, which doesn’t hurt. I know you can cut the wreath, but it’s fun putting it over his head.
“Merry Christmas” from Teeny Tiny Wishes is Label punched and put in place, and Linen Thread finds spaces to be tied to complete the sketch.
With the help of six dies, this doesn’t take long. Thank you Paper Players for getting me back in the groove.
Oh gosh, this is super cute! I love your little Rudolph! Thanks for playing with The Paper Players.
Thank you, Deanne! I’m glad you love Rudolf!
Love the red and crumb cake combination. Especially clever to have the card base peek through the die cut front borders. Great use of these elements and the sketch! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!
Thank you, Nancy! This was a fun challenge.
Thank you, Joanne! So glad you like it!
Your wood-effect reindeer really stands out against the other elements on your card Su – so festive! Thanks for playing along with my sketch challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
So cute!
Thanks, Sue!
Beautiful reindeer card. I also keep stacks of cardstock cut and scored in different colors to have handy for quick cards and during spare time I die cut some of my favorite dies and save them in zip lock bags. I just never know when I may need to make a card.
Thanks, Stella! You are very organized!
