Presents!
I was inspired by two challenges:
CAS(E) this sketch.
And, Seize the Birthday, with “presents” as the topping.
The first thing I thought of when seeing the sketch was the Stitched Rectangle Die Set. After cutting the five rectangles from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, I decided they would be really cute birthday presents, if I wrapped them in Designer Series Paper.
The Bird Ballad DSP has a striped pattern that gave me the colors for the packages and bows: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Pool Party. The Daffodil Delight package is from Bird Ballad DSP, and the Pool Party and Calypso Coral packages are from Subtles 6X6 DSP. I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut the DSP, and glued the “wrappings” on top of the Thick Whisper White Cardstock.

The bow is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, and cut with its die from the Bouquet Bunch Die Set. I used the same coordinating ink colors for stamping the bows.
“Happy Birthday” is from the Piece of Cake Stamp Set, which I stamped in Memento Black Ink.

The background is Whisper White, because I wanted the presents to stand out, but I embossed it with the Subtle Texture Embossing Folder for a little interest.
The presents and sentiment were popped up on Dimensionals, and my birthday card was complete!

Awesome details on the presents over a finely wood-grained BG. Superb!
Clever design Su and great take on the sketch, thankyou for playing along at Seize the Birthday, Cathy x
Great idea to turn these rectangles into presents!
I always enjoy your creativity and pretty cards but this one takes the cake…or presents. I am one who cannot go from a sketch to a card, grateful for designers like you, and you did such a unique idea with this one!
Love your take on the challenging sketch, Su. Great job with this bright, fun birthday card. Very clever. Enjoy your day!
Delightful CAS take on the two challenges, Sue! Love the quirky look of the odd sized package and using the Stitched Rectangle dies for the shapes is so fun. And thanks for using the sweet bow die from Beautiful Bouquet; I totally forgot it was even in that set! Everything about this card is wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing it!
Thank you, Susy! I appreciate your nice comment!
