Today’s project was in answer to the challenge at Paper Players, Lunchbox Love Notes.
I’m no longer packing lunches, but I was excited to create a masculine, love note for my husband. His favorite cards have Wood Textures and the color brown (surprise, surprise), so I made an effort to please him.

Masculine Wood Textures Love Note
The card base is Soft Suede cardstock, layered with a piece of Share What You Love Designer Series Paper. This is topped with Crumb Cake cardstock, embossed by the Corrugated embossing folder. The corrugated layer is raised on Foam Adhesive Strips.

The focal point has three die cuts, all cut from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. The heart and the word “love” are from The Sunshine Wishes die set, and “you” is from the Celebrate You die set. They are triple layered for thickness.

You wouldn’t believe how long it took to design this masculine card; almost all day. I was watching the US Open tennis tournament while working, though, so I was distracted.

Now that it’s made, it would be simple to duplicate. You’ll find my products listed below.
Thanks for reading my blog post, but, shhhh, don’t tell my husband about his card. I want to surprise him.

Su, what a cute little love note! I love the neutral colors and corrugated paper, and the sentiment says it all! So glad you shared with us at The Paper Players!
Simple, but elegant.
I love all of the texture on your card Su and your combination of papers and that fab embossing folder. Such a great example of how brown doesn’t have to mean boring! I’m sure your hubby will love it! Thanks for playing along with my lunch box love notes challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
Just love this for a guy!
What a fantastic surprise for your husband, Su! Sweet and male at the same time. Isn’t the scribbly heart from Sunshine Wishes amazing? It’s a real favourite of mine. The corrugated embossing folder is a great choice too – it adds texture, isn’t fussy and provides lovely contrast for the words. Thank you for joining us again at The Paper Players.
