This week’s Global Design Project is a theme: “pattern.” Please join our challenge, and share on social media with #gdp543.

I chose a pattern of circles and dots, incorporating some fun, new, products, I received at OnStage. The new products will be available May 5th, along with everything in the May-August 2026 Catalog!

Dotted Circles Birthday Card
I began by embossing Lost Lagoon Cardstock, 3 1/2″ X 5″, with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder. Then, I glued the layer to a Pool Party card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I used the 2″ Circle Punch with a new designer paper, Beautiful Ordinary Life. After punching three circles, I attached them to the card front with Dimensionals. The balloons were punched out from Meant For You Mix & Match Ephemera, and attached with Dimensionals. These have peel & stick capabilities, but work with Dimensionals also.

“Happy Birthday” is from the Lovely Arrangements Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on a Meant For You Ephemera label, and attached it with Dimensionals. I used a third new product to complete the card; three Sunset Sparkle Sequins.

Product of the Month ($5.00 with a $75.00 order).

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE a fun design by Leah Dixon. We’d love to see what you create, so please share it on social media, and tag it #gdp536.

I began by stamping my favorite, little birds from the upcoming stamp set, Cutest Crew. I stamped them in Pecan Pie Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used a Stylish Shapes, circle die, for cutting. Then, I used Cutest Crew Dies to cut the birds from upcoming, Garden Poetry Designer Paper, and glued them on top of the stamped birds. It’s a perfect fit; you can see their eyes peeking through the holes!

Cutest Crew birthday card
Next, I cut three strips, 1″ X 4″, from the same Garden Poetry Designer Paper. Then, I cut three strips, 1/8″ larger, from Wood Grain Wonders Paper, and glued them to the back of the Garden Poetry strips. The strips were glued to Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, which I embossed with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder. And, this embossed layer was glued to a Pecan Pie card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

After attaching the circle of birds with Dimensionals, I stamped “Happy Birthday,” from the Cutest Crew Stamp Set. I stamped it in Pecan Pie Ink, used a smaller, Stylish Shapes circle die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. To complete the designed, I added three, 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls.

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Pretty Peacock, Lemon Lolly, and Shy Shamrock.

The New Year
To make the flowers and leaves, I used Blending Brushes with Lemon Lolly Ink and Shy Shamrock Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I cut them from the colored paper with Happy Hibiscus Dies. This gives a softer look than cardstock in those colors. For the background, I gave Basic White Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″) texture with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder. This layer was glued to a Pretty Peacock card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “Cheers To You and the New Year,” is from the Throughout The Year Stamp Set. I stamped it in Pretty Peacock Ink on Basic White Cardstock, used a Spotlight On Nature Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. After gluing the flowers and leaves, and adding Shimmer Gems to four flower centers, my card was complete.

Now it’s your turn to create a project using these colors. Don’t forget to share it with the hashtag #GDP473.

Stampin’ Fancy Friday Sketch Challenge
This month is a sketch challenge.

Using a card sketch is one of my favorite ways to boost my creative mojo. Looking at the sketch, I used Full Of Life Designer Paper to cut two pieces with Paper Snips and two with Everyday Details Dies.

Then, I glued the two “paper snipped” pieces to Basic White Cardstock, embossed it with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder, and glued it to a Granny Apple Green card base.

“Hi” is from the Friends For Life Stamp Set. The “die-cut” pieces were attached with Dimensionals, and as a finishing touch, I added three Shiny Sequins.

May 6, 2024 | Gallery, Global Design Project, Hand-Crafted Cards |
For this week’s Global Design Project, I’m excited to share a few of my favorite products from the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. This sunburst design is from Full Of Life Designer Paper. The pack has all the colors of the rainbow, with a modern vibe, and you’re going to love it!
I cut the 6″x6″ paper to 4″ X 5 1/4″, and embossed it with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder. It was an experiment, and I love how it turned out! Don’t you? After embossing, I glued the DSP to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Full Of Life
The centerpiece is a framed sentiment, created with the Unbounded Love Bundle. This bundle has 16 dies to frame 25 sentiment stamps! I stamped “Hope,” and “is believing in a brighter tomorrow,” in Shaded Spruce Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used an Unbounded Love die for cutting. Then, I used the same die to cut Granny Apple Green Cardstock, making a frame for the sentiment.

Once the framed sentiment was glued in the center of the card front, I attached three Brushed Brass Butterflies, and my quick & easy card was complete.

I was inspired by Kayla Renee. Look for all of the Global Design Project Designers on Facebook and Instagram. Share and tag #GDP444 to play along with this challenge.
