I learned a new fact about flamingos yesterday, and had to make this card. I knew they liked to spend time together, but what was the name of their group? I would have answered “flock,” because “birds of a feather flock together.” Right? I was delighted to discover their group is called a “flamboyance.” How fun is that!!! So here they are:
The Flirty Flamingo stamp set has stamps for layering to make a complete, realistic looking bird. I needed to get a flamboyance on one card, so decided to use just one stamp. Flirty Flamingo (of course), Blushing Bride, and Powder Pink would be the colors. For some reason, Flirty Flamingo was looking more like Watermelon Wonder, so I chose Watermelon Wonder for the base card. I like the contrast of Basic Black with pink, and used that for layering. “Tickled Pink for you” was die cut with Stitched Shapes and Layering Ovals. The Powder Pink splatter was made with a stamp in Timeless Treasures.
Last, but not least. Clear and white star sequins were sprinkled over the card. TIP: Put the tiniest dot of Tombow glue where you want the sequin to go. Then, use a straight pin to pick up the sequin and place it on the glue. The clear ones are especially hard to see, but they shine when the lighting is right.
I hope you enjoyed my discovery. May your day be filled with flamboyance!
