Mother’s Day is less than a month away, so that is the occasion I chose for today’s card. My mother-in-law, and daughter, have spent special time in Hawaii, and I knew Stampin’ Up! had the perfect images to create my design. You can see details of the images by clicking on the pictures in my Product List.
I decided to stamp the images, from the Timeless Topical Stamp Set, in Soft Suede Ink, making it a Sepia creation.

Sepia Tropics
First, I stamped the palm trees, followed by the five leaves, on Whisper White Cardstock. So far, this was #simplestamping.
Then, I stamped four blossoms in Soft Suede Ink, and gave them some “color” with a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend.

Next, I used an In The Tropics Die for cutting the blossoms, and placed them on Dimensionals. In keeping with the Sepia idea, the card base is Soft Suede.

“Happy Mother’s Day” is from the Tea Together Stamp Set, stamped in (you guessed it) Soft Suede Ink. I should have stamped the sentiment first, instead of last, in case of error. Fortunately, it was good, and my Sepia Mother’s Day card was complete.

Since I needed two cards with an Hawaiian theme, I was wondering how the design would look in black and white with bright blossoms. If you visit my blog tomorrow, I will show you!
The Coastal Weave Embossing Folder is my Host Code gift for April. When you place a $50.00 minimum order in April, I will send you the embossing folder in May. Don’t forget to type my Host Code ( JQT3MUZN ) in the box provided.

Thank you for hopping by today! I appreciate you!

I’m not sure what Sepia means, but I’m assuming that it has something to do with the ink being the same color as the paper?
Thanks
Janice
Hi Janice, sepia is a brown color associated with with monochrome photographs of the 19th and early 20th century. So, it’s specifically brown, and meant to look vintage.
Wow. This card really looks vintage. I love it.
This is the most beautiful card I have seen in a while. I am a huge fan of sepia and monochromatic cards.
You have a CASE in my classes.
Thank you for a brilliant card!!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous!
It’s beautiful, Su. Perfect for Mother’s Day or another occasion. Love your awesome coloring. Enjoy your day!
