Today’s project was created using the square die from the Tropical die set with an inlaid technique.
Can you imagine looking at palms through a window?

Inlaid Palms
To enhance this scene, I set the window on a piece of wood DSP from Floral Romance, and gave the wood some texture with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

Now for the fun part, the inlaid technique!
I used a Tropical die to cut the square, window frame from Mossy Meadow cardstock, and a duplicate cut using Pool Party cardstock. I chose a Sahara Sand card base to blend with the Wood.

I was careful to leave the Pool Party pieces in place on the cutting surface, so it would be easier to fill them in around the palms.

“Happy Birthday” is from the Piece of Cake stamp set, and a Rectangle Stitched die was used for cutting.
The layout is perfect for this week’s Global Design Project.
The inlaid technique can be a bit tedious, but fun, if you like this sort of thing. Give it a try!
