Stampin’ Blends can provide hours of coloring fun, and that’s what happened with today’s card. It took about an hour to color our soon-to-be-released, black and white, True Love Designer Paper. It’s a wonderful experience, if you love coloring, but not recommended if you aren’t so inclined.
This designer paper is on page 11 in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and can be ordered January 5, 2021. The paper I used for photographing is True Love Designer Paper also.
My colors were determined by the color challenge at Fab Friday. I substituted Flirty Flamingo for Blushing Bride, and Old Olive for Pear Pizzazz, since I didn’t have the exact colors in Stampin’ Blends.
After cutting a 4″ X 5 1/4″ section of True Love Designer Paper, I used Light Seaside Spray to color the area around all of the flowers. I tried to keep an even movement without going over what I colored, because it gets darker the second time it’s colored.
Next, I colored the leaves; first with Light Old Olive, then the base of the leaves and some veining with Light Shaded Spruce, and a second time with Light Old Olive.
The flowers vary with shades of Light and Dark Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo, but always with the lighter shade first, followed by the darker shade, and ending with the lighter shade. I colored one flower at a time for easier blending. The centers of the flowers are Light Old Olive.
I glued my colored, True Love Designer Paper, to a Seaside Spray card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) blending with the background of the flowers.
Since I always need thank you cards, I decided on this sentiment from the Someone Special Stamp Set. It was stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink, cut with an Ornate Frames Die from Whisper White Cardstock, and attached with Dimensionals.
Here is another card using True Love Designer Paper that I posted a few days ago. You can click on it for the details.
