This isn’t an April Fool’s joke: I love the Waves of the Ocean Suite Collection, but it’s no longer available. I discovered this after creating this card and blog post. I’m sorry.

However, the good news is the stamp set and dies are carrying over to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. So, with a change of paper and jewels, you can get creative with the same basic tools.

Today’s birthday card has a Soft Succulent card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This is topped with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die, and given “ocean-like” texture with the Bark Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is a “Last Chance” retiring item.

Next, I used a second, Stitched Rectangles Die ( 1 1/4″ X 3 1/4″) to cut three panels from Waves Of The Ocean Designer Paper. I stamped the pelican, from the Waves Of Inspiration Stamp Set in Soft Succulent Ink. Then, I backed the panels with cardstock for thickness, and glued them to the card front. I eyeballed the spacing, gluing the middle panel first.

I thought about going without the wave, but it’s so fabulous, I had to add it. It was cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock, and I snipped the end for a perfect fit across the three panels.

Waves Of The Ocean

“Happy Birthday” was stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink on Waves Of The Ocean Designer Paper, and the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die was used for cutting. Finally, I attached the sentiment with Dimensionals, and added three Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels to complete my birthday card.
