Welcome to the Pals “first” Fun Folds Blog Hop. I created a design that I believe is original. It’s a standard sized card with a smaller card that is attached on top of it, so I’m calling it a “piggyback.” It’s really quite simple, which is what I like. You’ll find my supplies in the Product List below. And, don’t forget to come back on Black Friday for a special surprise!

“Piggyback” Fun Fold

I began with a Soft Succulent card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. I layered the card front with a pretty pattern of Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I layered the inside with Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.

By Su Mohr for Pals "first" Fun Fold Blog Hop;

Prior to gluing the inside, I stamped “Merry Christmas,” from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set, in Cherry Cobbler Ink, and added an Evening Evergreen tree, cut with a Christmas Trees Die. And, I gave it a nice 1/2″ border, using the scoring tool on my Paper Trimmer. I was reminded of this technique when it was used at OnStage (a Stampin’ Up! event for Demonstrators).

Next, I cut a second card from Evening Evergreen Cardstock, 5″ X 4″, folded at 2 1/2″. The card front was layered with another pattern of Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper, 2 1/4″ X 3 3/4″.

The inside of the smaller card also has Basic White Cardstock, 2 1/4″ X 3 3/4″, with a 1/4″ scored border.

I stamped “Ho Ho Ho,” from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set, in Cherry Cobbler Ink, and a tree, from the Whimsical Trees Stamp Set, in Evening Evergreen Ink. Then, I glued the smaller card to the center of the larger card.

The top piece, Santa and his reindeer, was cut from Evening Evergreen Cardstock, using a Giving Gifts Die. I glued it to a third pattern of Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper, 3 1/4″ X 1 1/2″. I also backed it with Evening Evergreen Cardstock for two reasons: the weight keeps the top card closed, and it looks nice and finished from the back.

Finally, I used a Giving Gifts Die to cut a cute, little, bow from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock that I glued to the top of the smaller card.
