Welcome to Global Design Project’s first challenge in 2022! I hope you’re as excited as I am to see how the designers have CASED Connie Collin’s beautiful card.
It presented the perfect opportunity for me to make a Valentine with products from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.
I began by stamping a sentiment from the Always In My Heart Stamp Set in Real Red Ink on Basic White Cardstock. The Stamparatus was used, so I could get an evenly inked, dark impression. Then, I used the large, Floral Heart Die for cutting. This die cuts the heart from the middle, making it fun to raise the heart on Dimensionals.
I just adore this sentiment, “You had me at hello.” Probably, because I met my husband on an airplane, and that was how I felt.

“You had me at hello”
For the background, I used a Basic Pattern Decorative Mask, the one with dots, as a stencil. Wanting it to be tone on tone, Sahara Sand Ink was applied with a Sponge Dauber on Sahara Sand Cardstock.
If the dots look slightly green, I think my Sponge Dauber wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. Time to buy some new Sponge Daubers!

Next, I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting the dotted layer. After wrapping it with Linen Thread, I attached it with Dimensionals to a Sahara Sand card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Pretty card. Love the red heart and the fancy white die cut behind it. I like how you used the dotted mask to make the background also. TFS
Thank you, JoAnn! I’m so glad you like it!
That is a lovely card but I enjoyed your comment about your husband. He is quite handsome in his tux and bow tie and obviously makes you happy – you are so often smiling in photos.
Thank you, Hope! He definitely puts a smile on my face!
