This is a special anniversary card, because it’s for my husband. We met on an airplane 40 years ago, and celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary February 1st. What are the chances!

Men like wood, so I began with In Good Taste Designer Paper, and used a Floral Heart Die for cutting the heart. Then, I used this same die to cut the foliage surrounding the heart from Expressions in Ink Designer Paper. I love the flecks of gold and color variation.

Happy Anniversary

Next, I glued these to Basic White Cardstock that was cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. And, this layer was glued to an Old Olive card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The banner across the heart was created with another Floral Heart Die. First, I shaped “Happy Anniversary,” from the Always In My Heart Stamp Set, on the Stamparatus. I was able to do this because the photopolymer stamps bend nicely. Second, I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Third, I used the die for cutting, folded on the sore lines, and glued the banner in place.

For the inside, I stamped “You had me at hello” in Pear Pizzazz Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the die for cutting. I glued the heart to the inside layer of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. The sentiment is a perfect expression of how I felt when he sat next to me on that airplane 40 years ago.
