I haven’t seen the aurora borealis in person, but from pictures I’ve seen, this New Horizons Designer Paper made me think of it. After trimming the New Horizons Paper to 4″ X 5 1/4″, I used a Majestic Mountain Die to cut the tree from Rainbow Glimmer Paper.

Aurora Borealis
Prior to gluing the scene to a Night Of Navy card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) I used three Windmill Fields Dies to cut the clouds from the designer paper. Then, I raised the clouds on Dimensionals for added interest. It’s so easy to make beautiful cards with this paper, I had to do something to make it more complicated. LOL.

I found this sentiment in the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, which seemed perfect: “Sending healing thoughts, may nature’s beauty bring peace to your soul.” I stamped it in Night Of Navy Ink on New Horizons DSP, used two Stitched Rectangles Dies for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. I took a picture, so you could see how I made the stitched shape fit the sentiment.
Nature has a way of making us feel better, doesn’t it?

I’ve never seen the Northern Lights either but I have been to Alaska. These papers reminded me of Alaskan skies as soon as I saw them. I love your card.
Velma, nice that you’ve been to Alaska! Thank you for sharing!
It does remind me of the Northern Lights (have called them that since was a child) dancing in the sky. We see them here once in a while, but not as vivid as they can be further north. My hope is to be visiting our son (much further north)and watch a great display some time. Thank you for the tip on the label, will definitely be doing that.
Thank you, Lynne! Yes, the Northern Lights are truly amazing! Have fun visiting your son!
Stunning! Brilliantly creative use of 2 stitched rectangle dies to achieve the size label you needed for that lovely sentiment.
Thank you, Sue! I would be lost without my Stitched Rectangles! LOL
