Brilliant Wings

I began by experimenting with the Brilliant Wings Dies. There were so many, it was hard to decide. Look at the possibilities!

On top of that, the dies can be used to crop the six butterflies from the Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper.

Plus, you can stamp the butterflies from the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set in any color, and then use the one-piece die for cutting. I used Memento Black Ink for this first try, and will color them with Stampin’ Blends. Are you beginning to see the many possibilities?

For todays card, I used one of the individual dies, along with the one-piece die, to cut from the Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper. By cutting a square of designer paper, to accommodate the butterfly, I was able to use the one-piece die as an individual die. I used the one in the lower left-hand corner in the pictures above.

I glued the butterflies together, just on the body, molding the wings with my fingers, so they could fly.

For their background, I used the large Potted Succulents Die to cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock, trimming the top for an interesting border. This was attached with teeny, tiny pin dots of Liquid Glue, to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “May the new life of Spring bring you joy” is from the Springtime Joy Stamp Set. It was stamped in Stazon Black Ink, and cut with a potted Succulents Die.

I attached the sentiment and butterflies with Dimensionals, added three Whale Of A Time Sequins, and my first card with this new, exciting set was complete.

Do you love it? I must tell you, the Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper, and paper I used for photography, Natural Touch, is only available until May 31, or while supplies last. So, order early to avoid being disappointed.
