Why am I happy creating Christmas cards in July? I think I became used to doing things out of season, because of working in the clothing industry. As a buyer for Nordstrom, we would buy clothes months ahead of their arrival to the stores. And, the biggest sale of the year, the Anniversary Sale featuring Fall (wool-yikes!) was in July. So, I will be enjoying Christmas in July with iced cold drinks, and sharing my cards with you.

This card began with a square of Sheet Music, stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink on Sahara Sand, and cut to size with the Layering Squares dies. I wanted to combine it with the new Card Front Builder Thinlit Dies, and decided on Very Vanilla for the design. The corner cut-outs were fantastic, and the flower “scraps” too pretty to toss. I set them aside with a plan in mind. Cherry Cobbler was chosen for layering, because it provided contrast as well as being a traditional Christmas color. “Joy” was found in last year’s Wonderful Wreath die set, also layered with Cherry Cobbler. A doily was glued to the art piece before placing the sheet music that was popped up on dimensionals.

What about those six, little die cut flowers? They found comfortable spots (on dimensionals) falling down the face of the card.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed my second 2017 Christmas card. If you’d like to see my 2016 Christmas cards, go to “Galleries” at the top of my blog, then “Idea Board.” Thanks for visiting my blog!

Such a stunning card. I plan to CASE it for my Demonstrator’s meeting. Thanks for sharing. I love your style.
I love this card. I just purchased the music stamp but I can’t find the thinlits in the store. What are they called?
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for the compliment! The thinlits are called Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies #144674.
Thanks. I still can’t find them. Are they in the new catalog? What page. I did a search in the store.
Hi Marilyn,
I sent you an email. Let me know if you need more help.
You are rocking this set…I haven’t been able to order it yet…can’t wait to add it to my collection to start playing too!
Thanks Stesha, your projects will be gorgeous!
I have to say that the coordinating stamp set does nothing for me, but I LOVE the dies, and I think your card is fabulous. Love the sheet music stamp! This a CASE-able design for sure. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thanks Linda! I can see where the dies could be used without the stamps.
Turned out fantastic. I love “Joy” on the square of sheet music and the doily adds great balance. The corner die cuts are adorable!
Thanks Debi! I think the corner dies will be getting a work out!
