Did you know this is World Watercolor month? I found my perfect object to watercolor in the Perched In A Tree Stamp Set. This set was at the top of my list from the 2022 July-December Mini Catalog, and I was excited to get started.

To begin today’s card, I stamped the cute bird and tree branch in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used Aspen Tree Dies for cutting.
Watercolored Bird
Next, using a Water Painter, I opened the lid of Crumb Cake Ink, touched the brush to the ink pad, and squeezed the Water Painter so a drop of water would land in the lid. After a little swirling in the lid, I painted the bird. This is the tricky part, because you can’t dilly dally; you have to move quickly on this type of paper. I left a white portion around the head and chest, which I painted in Pool Party Ink, using the same method.
Don’t be afraid to experiment, and with different types of paper. Watercolor Paper, or Shimmery White Cardstock are better suited to water. Be sure to watch the video, highlighted above.
Isn’t the background wonderful? The oval was cut from Basic White Cardstock (4″ X 5 1./4″) with an Aspen Tree Die. Then, all I had to do was glue it on a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
This card could have been for many occasions, but I chose to make it a Christmas card with “Let heaven and nature sing” as the sentiment. The beautiful words (Joy To The World) are from the Perched In A Tree Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I used two Deckled Rectangles Dies for cutting; the smaller one first, then the larger to make the label shorter.
For a little embellishment, I added three pearls from the Fancy Sequins For Everything. They have a flat bottom, making them easy to attach.

I couldn’t wait to make my first Halloween card of the season. This little witch in the 2022 July-December Mini Catalog is oh, so cute! She is from the Bewitching Bundle, which comes with the Witch Hat Builder Punch. For today’s card, I simply stamped the hat in Highland Heather Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the punch for cutting.
“Woo-Hoo, it’s Halloween”
Next, I stamped her shoes and socks in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then I used Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends to add a touch of color.
After coloring, I used a Deckled Rectangles Die (2 1/4″ X 3 1/2″) for cutting. The same die was used to cut a rectangle of Gingham Cottage Designer Paper, which I glued to the white cardstock, and placed on Dimensionals.
The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with another piece of Gingham Cottage Designer Paper, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. You can see all of the beautiful colors of this designer paper in my Product List below. Isn’t the orange perfect for Fall and Halloween?

It’s officially “Christmas in July,” and my first Christmas card of the 2022 season was created with the Christmas Pinecone Dies. If you’re not in the mood, just watch the Hallmark Channel, LOL!
I used one of the two large, Christmas Pinecone Dies to cut from Awash In Beauty Designer Paper, and snipped a corner.
Christmas Pinecones
I still love the Painted Christmas Designer Paper, a rare DSP “carry-over” from last years’ 2021 holiday season. A square of the pinecone paper was cut with the second largest, Stylish Shapes Die. Then, I backed it with a square of foil, 2 1/2″ X 2 1/2″, for a little sparkle, and placed the pine bough beneath the corner.
The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die, and embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder. THis layer is glued to a Sahara Sand card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ , folded at 4 1/4″.
To complete my Christmas card, I added a snip of pine bough to the front of the pinecones, making it look like it’s growing through the square.
The sentiment, “warm wishes,” is from the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used two cuts with the Smallest Deckled Rectangles Die to cut it to a smaller size.
For a bit more red, I added three, tiny, Real Red berries. I used a retired punch, but you could punch these from Hedgehog or Whale eyes.

The Splendid Stems Dies are wonderful, and for today’s card they are succulents. Growing succulents in San Diego is so easily done, anyone can be known as having a “green thumb.” You can simply snip a piece of the plant, stick it in the ground, and with a little water, it grows. Amazing!
I cut the succulent from three colors of cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Pear Pizzazz, and Soft Succulent (LOL).
Potted Succulents
I planted the succulents in a gray pot, created with Basic White Cardstock and a Potted Succulents Die. The outline of the pot is from the Simply Succulents Stamp Set, stamped in VersaMark, and sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder. Then, I used Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends for coloring, and placed it on Dimensionals.
The background is a Soft Succulent card base, layered with Splendid Day Designer Paper, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. This designer paper is special, half being foil. You can see the sheen in the last photo.
“Thank you” is from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Succulent Ink on Basic White Cardstock, cut with its Sentiment Silhouettes Die, and attached with Dimensionals.
For extra detail, I added some Faux Sea Glass Shapes.

I love the combination of pink and green, and today’s design adds a touch of gold. I began by stamping two of the plants from the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set in Soft Sea Foam and Flirty Flamingo; then using their Splendid Stems Dies for cutting. After cutting, I used their coordinating, “two-step” stamps for coloring, and placed them on Dimensionals. Don’t be surprised that the coloring stamps don’t align, because they aren’t supposed to match.
Pink, green & gold
Next, I used two more Splendid stems Dies to cut “open” plants from Basic White Cardstock and Blushing Bride Cardstock, which were glued flat.
The cute, gold, bee was stamped in VersaMark on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder, set it with the Heat Tool, used a Splendid Stems Die for cutting, and placed it on a Dimensional. I made several bees while I was at it.
For more gold, the pot was created with Splendid Day Designer Paper and another Splendid Stems Die. I gave it texture with the Hive Embossing Folder, which I layered on cardstock for thickness (using the debossed side) and placed it on Dimensionals.
The background is a gorgeous piece of Splendid Day Designer Paper, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. Prior to gluing this to a Soft Sea Foam card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I stamped “sending hugs” in Soft Sea Foam Ink. This is one of the sentiments in the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set.

Sketch challenges are a great way to be inspired, and this is what we have for today’s Global Design Project. So, check out what the designers have done with the circle, then create your own design to share in our gallery.
I decided to create a garden with butterflies, and began with a section of Awash In Beauty Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I used the largest Stylish Shapes Circle Die to cut a hole in the garden.
Beneath the circle, I glued a layer of Vellum Layering Designs, which I attached to a Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) with Dimensionals.
Encircled Butterflies
The butterflies were created with Basic White Cardstock, cut with a Brilliant Wings Die. I glued their bodies to the vellum, leaving their wings to fly.
The sentiment, “sunshine to brighten your day,” is from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, used a Sending Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.
After giving the three butterflies tiny heads of Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels, my card was complete.
