“Giggles” from the Snowman Season Stamp Set

The star of the show is the adorable snowman from the Snowman Season Stamp Set. He makes me giggle just looking at him, like the Pillsbury Doughboy, so he has acquired the name, Giggles.

Giggles

I gave Giggles lots of snow to make him happy. The gray dotted background (4″ X 5 1/4″) is from the Neutrals 6X6 Designer Paper in Smoky Slate. I layered this on a Smoky Slate card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) after stamping “let it snow” in Memento Black Ink. Giggles kept saying “let it snow” over and over, leaving me no choice.

How did Giggles come to be? I created him with Memento Black Ink stamped on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. After fussy cutting him (cutting with scissors), I gave him a touch of color with Light Smoky Slate (shading) and Light Pumpkin Pie (carrot nose) Stampin’ Blends.

Giggles said he would be even happier, if I gave him some giant snowflakes, so I obliged. I used the Winter Snow Embossing Folder with two Pieces of Thick Whisper White Cardstock, cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die (3 1/4″ X 1 1/4″).

If you look at this week’s CAS(E) this sketch, I think you’ll recognize the layout.

Love Of Leaves Thanksgiving Card

The Love Of Leaves Stamp Set has wonderful leaves for Thanksgiving cards. The leaves look like they have been watercolored, but they were simply stamped.

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Love Of Leaves Stamp Set, Word Wishes Dies, Rainbow Glimmer Paper, Tasteful Textile embossing; #thanksgivingcards #fallcards #leaves #leavesoncards #loveofleaves ##wordwishes #thanksgiving #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting

Thanksgiving Leaves

First, I stamped the largest leaf from the Love Of Leaves Stamp Set on Whisper White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, in three colors of ink: Bumblebee, Mango Melody and Real Red.  After stamping, I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting.

Before gluing the leaf art piece to my Crumb Cake card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″), I gave it texture with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

Next, I used a Word Wishes Die to cut “Thanksgiving” from Rainbow Glimmer Paper. I chose a section of it that coordinated with the leaves, and glued it to Vellum Cardstock, 4″ X 1″. I used an Ornate Layers Die to cut the Vellum, giving it a nice, stitched edge, to match the leaf layer.

The Vellum is held in place by glue, which is hidden beneath the letters in “Thanksgiving.” I was careful not to loose the tiny “i” dots.

For a final touch I added three, In Color Enamel Dots, in Bumblebee.

I recently sent these Enamel Dots to my Dream Makers team members, and I have an extra pack. I’ll send it to the next person who joins our team. We’d love to have you! Just click on the “Get and Go Starter Kit” below. September is a great month to join!

Pup’s Christmas Card

Today’s Christmas card is in the traditional colors of red & green, featuring Pup, the patient dog.

By Su Mohr for PP; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Word Wishes Dies, Playful Pets Designer Paper, In The Pines Stamp Set; Stitched Rectangles Dies, Little Treat Box Dies, Little Treats Stamp Set; #christmascards #holidaycards #holiday2020, #dogs #dogsoncards #daschunds #playfulpets #christmastrees #treesoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting

Pup’s Card

The first thing I did was cut my card base from Garden Green Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, and folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut a piece of Regals 6 X 6 Designer Paper in dotted, Garden Green. This was topped with Whisper White Cardstock, cut with the third largest Stitched Rectangles Die.

Next, I cut Pup from the Playful Pets Designer Paper, freeing him from all the other dogs. I thought he might get lonely, but he said he wouldn’t, as long as he could sit by a Christmas tree.

Pup also wanted to sit next to his gift, so he could have fun anticipating, knowing that anticipation is half the fun. He’s a very smart dog!

There was a wonderful stamp in the Little Treats Stamp Set, that made a beautiful gift box, when stamped in Real Red Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. It even had a die for cutting, from the Little Treat Box die set. I glued Pup’s nose and front paws to his gift, and placed them on Dimensionals, so they would be ready to sit by the tree.

The tree was made with two stamps from the In the Pines Stamp Set, stamped in Garden Green Ink on the Stitched Rectangle of Whisper White Cardstock. I first “stamped off” the colored part of the tree, and then stamped the outline in “full strength” ink. It isn’t meant to match exactly.

We found Pup’s sentiment, “Merry Christmas,” in the Word Wishes die set, and cut the words from Real Red Cardstock. Don’t you think the font is pretty? We glued the words on an angle, and Pup’s card was complete. Do you think he can wait until Christmas?

Pup’s card was inspired by the Paper Players.

Stamps Sets on Sale:

“Quick & Easy” Vellum Thanks

Today’s thank you card was “quick & easy,” because I let the Sweet Silhouettes Die do the work.

By Su Mohr for cts; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Sweet Silhouettes Dies, Ornate Thanks Stamp Set,Vellum Cardstock, Ornate layers Dies, In Color Enamel Dots; #sweetsilhouettes #ornatethanks #ornatelayers #vellum #quick&easy #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #papercrafting #cardmaking #stampinup

Thanks on Vellum

After running the Sweet Silhouettes tree die  through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine on Thick Whisper White Cardstock, I glued it to Misty Moonlight, In Color 6 X 6 Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. I trimmed a few lower branches from the tree, and used pin dots of Tombow glue to secure it. Don’t you like how the wood pattern goes with the tree?

It was easy to glue the Misty Moonlight layer to the Thick Whisper card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I stamped “Thanks,” from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, in Night of Navy Ink on Vellum Cardstock. Warning: give it time to dry, because ink dries slowly on Vellum. Once dry, I used an Ornate Layers Die for cutting.

Sometimes it’s a challenge to attach Vellum without the glue showing. Today’s solution was to place four, In Color Enamel Dots, on the corners of the Vellum, and hide the glue beneath them.

I recently sent these Enamel Dots to my Dream Makers team members, and I have an extra pack. I’ll send it to the next person who joins our team. We’d love to have you! Just click on the “Get and Go Starter Kit” below. September is a great month to join!
