Today I’m sharing a card using a favorite “carry-over” stamp set from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, Positive Thoughts. I was so excited when Stampin’ Up! created dies to coordinate with it (Nature’s Thoughts), and both are available in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. They are in my Product List below, and clicking on the pictures takes you to my store for ordering.
Hugs Prayers Love
The card base is Bermuda Bay, topped with a layer of Whisper White Cardstock, that I embossed with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder. Prior to embossing, I used the largest Ornate Layers Die to give it that pretty edge. Then, I taped a piece of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the white layer, and glued it to the card base.
This is currently my favorite ribbon, and the reason I chose it for my Host Code gift for the month of June. If you order a minimum of $50.00 in June, I will mail you the ribbon in July. You’ll find more details below.
Next, I used a second Ornate Layers Die to cut the center strip from Coastal Cabana Cardstock. Before attaching it with Dimensionals, I stamped “Hugs Prayers Love” from the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay Ink.
The sprig was created with a Positive Thoughts Stamp, VersaMark, White Embossing Powder, Pool Party Cardstock, the Heat Tool, and a Nature’s Thoughts Die.
The last detail was adding a bow of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, and some Woven Threads Sequins.
Have you played in a Tic Tac Toe challenge? My card would fit in two rows: flowers, die-cut, embossing or girly, die-cut, friendship. It’s fun to design a card to fit the parameters, and you should give it a try!

Can you believe, it’s the first of June?! I get to announce the winner of May’s drawing for the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set and Small Bloom Punch:

Today’s card is all about flowers, because “floral” is the theme at Global Design Project, #GDP243.
I’m also sharing with TGIF’s “vellum die cuts” challenge.
Vellum Poppies
I love the Poppy Moments Dies, so I used two to cut flower frames from Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I used two dies to cut vellum that fit the shapes of the frames. A tiny bit of glue was used to attach them together, and I added Dimensionals to the centers.
For the background, I cut a piece of the new, gorgeous, Forever Greenery Designer Paper with an Ornate Layers Die. Isn’t the detailed edge fabulous?
The shiny gold is from the new Forever Gold Laser-Cut Designer Paper. This intricate branch is amazing! I used a border from the DSP to cut the poppy centers (Poppy Moments Dies) and “welcome” (Well Written Dies).
TIP: A very, very, very light touch of Tombow Liquid Glue holds the branch in place. Avoid touching the gold with gluey fingers, because it will leave a smudge. Ask me how I know, LOL.
The card base is Pretty Peacock, and I embossed the front with my new, favorite embossing folder, Tasteful Textiles.

For my last post of May, I’m showing you another way to use the new Birds & Branches Bundle. This circle die is truly amazing! Just use it to cut through the card front for a “peek-a-boo” card.
“Peek-a-boo”
The card base is our new Just Jade color. Isn’t it pretty? And, the great news is, you get to order it June 3rd! That’s when our 2020-2021 Annual Catalog goes live, meaning we all get to order everything we love from the new catalog! You can see details of this bundle in my Product List below.
After cutting the circle, I used a second fabulous die in the set to cut the edge. Can you imagine the fun you’ll have with this die?!
I created the pretty bird by stamping her in Mango Melody Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and cutting with a third die in the set. I glued her to the bottom of the circle, and backed her with a plain white die-cut on the back for support.
Next, I used a fourth die in the set to cut some extra branches from Just Jade Cardstock to surround the circle, adding foliage for the bird.
And, I completed the card front with a few, little Pearls.
The inside has “happy birthday” from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink.
TIP: I made sure the sentiment was in the right spot before stamping, because of the “peek-a-boo” circle.
I’m really excited about the coming month of June. I love the warm, summer days with long daylight hours. And, I love what Stampin’ Up! has in store for us! Come back tomorrow when I’ll announce the winner of May’s drawing for the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set and Small Bloom Punch.

I feel like relaxing just looking at this scene, don’t you?
Beach Scene
It looks simple to make, and it was! The card base is Balmy Blue Cardstock with a layer of Granny Apple Green Cardstock, and a top layer of Whisper White Cardstock. I cut the white layer with a Friendly Silhouettes Die, allowing the green to show through the trees.
Before embossing the white layer with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, I stamped the sentiment from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set in Crumb Cake Ink. This color looks like sand, where you can hunt for seashells during your relaxing day at the beach. The seashells are Woven Threads Sequins. Aren’t they pretty?

Today’s card is #simplestamping; just paper, ink and stamps.
During the pandemic
The three “shape” stamps I chose are from the Waterfront Stamp Set, stamped in the retiring 2018-2020 In Colors: (left to right) Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel.
It’s a bit sad bidding adieu to my colorful friends. (colors, not people). There’s a link to the Last-Chance products below, if you want to keep these colors in your collection, available while supplies last.
I arranged the shapes this way, because of the inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches.
The sentiment is also from the Waterfront Stamp Set, and perfect for these pandemic times, don’t you think?
I stamped “Friends make the good times better…….& the hard times easier” in Memento Black Ink, and adhered my Whisper White card front to a Basic Black card base.
