“Hey, Lady!”

This is my first design using the Little Ladybug Stamp Set and Ladybugs Dies. I adapted it to fit this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I kept it clean and simple with a Thick Whisper White card base, topped with a Subtle Textured layer of Whisper White Cardstock. The vertical piece on the right was cut with an Ornate Layers Die.

The ladybug and flower were stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with their dies. Then, I colored them with Stampin’ Blends  shown in my Product List.

There’s a number of great sentiments in the stamp set, but “Hey, Lady!” is my favorite. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, and used a Stitched So Sweetly Die for cutting.

Thanks for stopping by, and I wish you a lucky day!

The Coastal Weave Embossing Folder is my Host Code gift for April. When you place a $50.00 minimum order in April, I will send you the embossing folder in May. Don’t forget to type my Host Code ( JQT3MUZN ) in the box provided.

Tropical Oasis Pineapple

Aloha! I hope this pineapple brings you some cheer! This Tropical Oasis Designer Paper gives me a warm, happy feeling, and today I’m choosing to be happy, in spite of the quarantines surrounding us.

By Su Mohr for GDP; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: In The Tropics Dies, Tropical Oasis DSP, Coastal Weave embossing, Banner Triple Punch; #aloha #pineapples #pinapplesoncards #tropicalcards #inthetropics #tropicaloasis #tropicalfruit #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #cardsketches #friendshipcards #fruitoncards

Aloha Pineapple

First, I layered the tropical fruit DSP on a Thick Whisper White card base. Next, I used my Paper Trimmer and Banner Triple Punch to make a Whisper White, banner, 2″ wide. This punch is great for making three sizes of banners with perfectly cut ends. Click on it in my Product List for more details.

Before gluing the banner to the card front, I embossed it with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder. The Coastal Weave Embossing Folder happens to be my Host Code gift to you for the month of April! See details below.

I created the pineapple with In The Tropics Dies, and Tropical Oasis Designer Paper. Isn’t it sweet?

A third die from the same set was used to cut “aloha,” and I tied it to the pineapple with Linen Thread. I layered all three die-cuts for thickness; the pineapple with Whisper White, and “aloha” with Soft Suede.

My inspiration was from the Global Design Project challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this adds a little cheer to your day.

Diagonal Design

Instructions for cutting this design with the Paper Trimmer:

First I cut three pieces of paper: one Whisper White Cardstock, and two Ornate Garden prints 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″. Carefully holding them together, so they would be exactly even, I cut them down to 4″ X 5  1/4″. Then, I made two more cuts, through the three papers at an angle, making sure the blade cut the tiny point on the middle piece correctly.

I was impressed by how easily the Paper Trimmer cut through the three pieces at the same time.

Before piecing the papers together on three, Thick Whisper White card bases, I embossed the white piece with the Ornate Garden Embossing Folder.

After gluing the pieces to the card bases, I used an Ornate Layers Die to cut Whisper White Cardstock for stamping the three sentiments.

“You Are Wonderful” is from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set, stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink. This is my favorite design, because I Iike the white between the prints.

“Thanks” is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, stamped in Terracotta Tile Ink.

“The Journey of life is best shared with a friend. We’ll get through this together.” is from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set, stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink. This is my favorite sentiment, because it is so apropos. I deleted the daisy section, so it would have a cleaner look.

Can you see how CAS(E) this sketch was my inspiration?

I’m also sharing with Fab Friday.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope my instructions are helpful to you. This is a fun way to make three cards from one idea, and you should give it a try.

My Host Code gift for the month of April is the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder. I LOVE it!!! Just type my Host Code in the box provided when you order a minimum of $50.00 in April, and I’ll send it to you in May.

Ornate Garden Paper Pieced Rain Boots

The rain boots from Under My Umbrella were begging for a pattern, or two, or five. After experimenting a bit, I knew that the paper piecing technique could work perfectly.

By Su Mohr for Paper Players; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Under My Umbrella Stamp Set, Ornate Garden DSP, Onate Floral embossing, Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, Well Said Stamp Set, Stitched Rectangles Dies; #birthdaycards #rainboots #cardsfromallofus #ornategardens #ornatethanks #stamparatus #paperpiecing #cardtechniques #undermyumbrella #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #papercrafting #cardmaking #

Patterned Rain Boots

First, I stamped the boots in Memento Black Ink on a strip of Whisper White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 1 1/2″.

TIP: I used the Stamparatus, leaving the boot stamp on the lid, moving the lid down on the hinges, which gives a straight line with perfect spacing. Also, I trimmed the cardstock to 1 1/2″ after stamping, leaving it wider to accommodate the magnet needed to hold it in place.

Once I had my strip of stamped rain boots, I stamped them again on each of the five patterns of Ornate Garden Designer Paper. Then, using my Paper Snips, I cut along the black lines of the rain boots. This is called paper piecing, and it was so much fun gluing the patterned paper to the white boots! Don’t you love the Ornate Garden DSP?

After completing my rain boots, I backed them with a 1/16th” border of Daffodil Delight Cardstock. The background is a Thick Whisper White card base, embossed with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is from two stamps sets, stamped in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die.

“From all of us” is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, and “Happy Birthday” is from the Well Said Stamp Set. The font is wonderful; I wish my handwriting was like that!

I just had to add three Daffodil Delight Enamel Dots, even though they are retired. If you are a customer, contact me, and I’ll send you some.

I am playing along with the Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge: patterned paper-birthday-flowers.

The Ornate Garden items are from Stampin’ Up’s 2020-2021 “early release” suite, which are available as of April 1.

Welcome Baby: B-puppy-b-y

Among the best days of our lives are the days our babies are born. Celebrating these births with a card is a must!

By Su Mohr; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Hand-Lettered Prose Dies, Dog Punch, Well Said Stamp Set, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Argyle embossing; #dogpunch #babycards #handletteredprosedies #wellsaid #stitchedsosweetly #welcomebaby #dogsoncards #puppies #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking #diy

This was such a fun card to make, once I made a few decisions. I knew I wanted to spell “baby” using the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies and 6X6 Designer Series Paper. The “B” is Purple Posy, but this die set doesn’t have upper case letters. It looks like a capital “B” to me, so I went with it. The next “b” is Mint Macaron, and “y” is So Saffron.

What about the “a?” Well, somehow, Dog Punch tossed out the “a,” dressed himself in Seaside Spray DSP, and took its place! He said that before babies are born people usually want to get a puppy (must be hormones), so he wanted to be on the card. I saw some truth in that, so I let him stay.

Dog Punch also wanted to sit on a soft quilt, so I made one with Whisper White Cardstock and the Argyle Embossing Folder. I even trimmed the top and bottom with a Be Mine Stitched Die.

In addition, Dog Punch wanted everyone to know he was welcoming the baby, and we found the word in the Well Said Stamp Set. I managed to match it to the scallop edged blanket with a Stitched So Sweetly Die.

All in all, I think Dog Punch had a good idea. Don’t you?

WE both agree it’s a good idea for you to place an order during Sale-A-Bration, because of all the FREE stuff you can get. Plus, if you order a minimum of $50.00, and use my March Host Code  JTDHJ36F, I will send you Pearls (140) in April!

Daisy Thoughts For You

The Daisy Lane Stamp Set and Daisy Punches continue to be a favorite of mine.

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Medium Daisy Punch, Daisy Lane Stamp Set, Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, Ornate Frames Stamp Set, pearls; #daisylane #peacefulmoments #daisies #daisiesoncards #flowersoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup #2020saleabration

Daisy Thoughts

This daisy was stamped in Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with the Medium Daisy Punch. I curled the petals with my Bone Folder, glued them together, and placed the flower on a Dimensional. The center was made with seven tiny pearls, and yes, the pearls happen to be my Host Code gift for the month of March! You’ll always find my current Host Code beneath my profile photo.

Are you wondering how I made the circle? I didn’t know how I would do it, until I started! LOL! I found the largest Layering Circles Die, and cut the circle from a piece of 4″ X 5 1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock. Using this as a stencil, I attached it with Sticky Notes to an identical piece of Cardstock. Then, I filled in the circle with Pool Party Ink, applied with a Sponge Dauber. I love stenciling, because it’s so much fun to remove the stencil and see the results!

Before attaching the daisy, I stamped the stem, also from the Daisy Lane Stamp set, in Garden Green Ink.

All that remained was the sentiment, which I found in the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set. I stamped “Thinking of you with all my heart” in Garden Green Ink, and used an Ornate frames Die for cutting.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is my Host Code for March. When placing your order (50.00 minimum) there will be a box for you to type in this code, so I can send you pearls in April.

Would you like to become a Demonstrator for the discount, and the ability to pre-order, without business required? It’s fun being a “hobby” Demonstrator! There’s no obligation or “down side.”
