Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! While the COVID 19 pandemic is adding stress to our lives, we Pals hope this blog hop will help to lift your spirits. Let us inspire you to take a creative break and relax for a little while. This month our theme is “Special Occasions” where we have made a project for just about any occasion you can think of! You’ll find the full line-up below to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I recently received a wedding “save the date,” so it inspired me to create a wedding card with someone special in mind.

Mr. & Mrs.
I began with a Thick Whisper White card base, using one of the new Ornate Borders Dies to decorate the edge. It turned out perfectly…..the second time. The first time, my pretty border was accidentally, completely cut from the card front.
TIP: Make sure the die is facing the right direction. See the straight piece on the ends of the die? The larger portion of the die needs to face the fold of the card.
However, I didn’t let my die-cut mistake go to waste. Can you see how pretty it looks, decorating the envelope flap, in the first picture?

Next, I found the sentiment in the Last A lifetime Stamp Set. I stamped “To The New Mr. & Mrs.” in VersaMark, sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. An Ornate Layers Die was just the right size for cutting.

Beneath the sentiment, I added foliage made with Frosted Bouquet Dies and a Botanical Tags Die, cut from Purple Posy, Soft Sea Foam, and Whisper White Cardstock. For a touch of sparkle, I added a few Iridescent Sequins.

I continued the sentiment on the inside, also from the Last A Lifetime Stamp Set. The same gold embossing technique was used, and then framed by using an Ornate Layers Die.

I appreciate you hopping to my blog today. Thank you! The supplies for today’s card can be seen in my Product List below.
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 13th, when we will say “Goodbye to January Mini and 2019 Annual Catalog and/or Hello to 2020 Annual Catalog.” The Design Team will showcase their favorites from the retiring catalogs or new products from the new catalog. The Dino Days dinosaur says “YOU make me smile.”
I was delighted that the theme at the Sisterhood of Crafters was “kids cards,” because this adorable dinosaur was anxious to jump on a card.

Denim Dino
The dinosaur came to life from Seaside Spray Cardstock and Blueberry Bushel Ink. After stamping him, from the Dino Days Stamp Set, I used his Dino Die for cutting. His horns were made with Daffodil Delight 6X6 Brights DSP, and another Dino Die for cutting. He’s proud of his denim suit, and isn’t he cute?

Denim Dino wanted to say, “make me smile,” which was in the Well Said Stamp Set. So, I stamped it in Blueberry Bushel Ink, and cut it with the Special Day, “bubble” die.

Then, Dino wanted to hold the letters Y-O-U, so I cut them from Seaside Spray 6X6 In-Color DSP, and used the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies for cutting. The letters were layered for thickness.
The background is Whisper White Cardstock, Granny Apple Green 6X6 DSP, and a Granny Apple Green card base. I cut the layers with Stitched Rectangles dies.
Dino insisted on adding three yellow enamel dots to match his horns, even though they are retired. If you are a customer, contact me, and I’ll send you some.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope we made you smile!

Today’s card features a cute flower in Stampin’ Up’s 2018-2020 retiring colors of Cardstock: Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel.

Button Button
The flower is from the new, “early release,” Ornate Borders die set. It reminds me of a button, because of the holes, so I decided to string them together. This is as close as I’ll come to sewing on a button! They are strung on White Baker’s Twine, with the ends taped to the back.

To expand on the button idea, I used our Button Button Embossing Folder to emboss an angled corner of the Whisper White card front. I backed this with Basic Black Cardstock, which I layered on a Thick Whisper White card base. The black really makes the colors pop, don’t you agree?

Crafting is much more fun than housework, “sew” I used the perfect sentiment from the Crafting Forever Stamp Set. It was stamped in VersaMark, sprinkled with Black Embossing Powder, set with the Heat Tool, and cut with a Stitched Shapes Die.

Stampin’ Up’s 2018-2020 In Colors of ink are retiring also. They were featured on yesterday’s, rainbow card, and you can click on the card for details.

Everyone loves rainbows, and Stampin’ Up’s, retiring, 2018-2020 In Colors, provided the perfect color pallete.

Retiring Rainbow
I turned the Whisper White Cardstock into a rainbow using Sponge Daubers with the five, retiring, In Colors of Ink. From Left to right: Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel.

Once my rainbow was created, I used an Ornate Layers Die to cut the frame. Isn’t it pretty? Then, I layered this on a Thick Whisper White card base.

Next, I used a floral, Ornate Borders Die to cut the diagonal strip from Whisper White Cardstock. And, I added three flowers, cut with dies that also come in the set.
The sentiment, “thanks,” is from Well Written Dies, cut from Black Foil. The shiny, black, sentiment really makes the colors pop, don’t you think?

My rainbow inspiration was from TGIF.

The official retirement date for the In Colors is June 3, 2020, but they typically sell out sooner. Stock up on these colors now, before it’s too late.
Clicking on the pictures in my Product List takes you to my store, where you can put the items in your shopping cart. How handy is that!
Thanks so much for visiting me today! The Cardstock in these colors will be retiring also, so if you’d like to see my design using these colors, come back tomorrow.

I caught a glimpse of these gnomes in my garden today. It’s nice to know they are guarding the earth’s treasures.

Garden Gnomes
The three gnome’s creation began with hats from Ornate Garden Designer Paper, cut with a Paisley Die. The Paisley Die Set has retired, but you can see it in my Product List. I know some of you Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators save everything, so you will have it. The gnome’s nose is a Paisley Die also.
Next, was the beard, which is Whisper White Cardstock cut with a Nature’s Roots (leaf) Die. I glued the hat, the nose, and the beard together, and placed them on Dimensionals. If you turn their heads a bit, they can talk to each other.

The gnome’s body was made with the Balloon Bouquet Punch, and In Color 6X6 DSP in Terracotta Tile gingham.

The shoes were made with the Leaf Punch, and easily attached by just snipping one leaf from the middle. I decided to make their shoes Old Olive, after taking the picture.

Their background is a Thick Whisper White card base, embossed with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder. I added a large circle, using a retired die, because of the Fusion challenge sketch.

“You made my day!” is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, stamped in Old Olive Ink, and cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you see some gnomes running around on your crafting table!

It’s exciting to use new products, and the “early release” Ornate Layers Dies worked perfectly for today’s layout. I had fun combining the new die-cuts with Annual Catalog Bird Ballad Designer Paper.

Ornate Layers
I began with the long, narrow, Ornate Layers Die, and a Petal Pink print of Bird Ballad Designer Paper. Doesn’t this pattern look like dotted Swiss fabric. When I was in my teens, one of my favorite dresses was made of Dotted Swiss, and I love this feminine paper.
A second Ornate Layers Die was used to cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped “hello,” from the Country Home Stamp Set, in Mossy Meadow Ink.

Next, I used a Layering Squares Die to cut a sweet bird from the Bird Ballad DSP for my focal point. I framed the bird with a scrap of Mossy Meadow Cardstock, cut with a scalloped Layering Squares Die. This itty, bitty edge really makes a difference.
I wanted to keep the background simple, and used Whisper White Cardstock with Subtle Textured embossing on a Thick Whisper White card base.

The design was completed with a bow of Seam Binding Ribbon, and three little pearls.

My layout is from CAS(E) this sketch.

I’m also sharing with Global Design Project’s Spring theme.
