I love the colors (Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly, and Bubble Bath) in the Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack, and that was the beginning for today’s card.
Ribbon and Balloons
To show off the ribbon, I stamped three balloons from the Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set, in the same three colors of ink, on Basic White Cardstock, 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″.
The stamp set has two-step stamping for the balloons, so I used the stamps to add some texture. After stamping the balloons, I stamped balloon strings with Memento Black Ink. You can see the all of the stamps in my Product List below.
The card base is Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with Zoo Crew Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Doesn’t the 1/16″ border of black and white designer paper make the colors “POP?” LOL
The birthday greeting is from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After cutting, “wishing you the happiest of birthdays,” with its Sentiments Silhouettes Die, I attached it to the card front with Dimensionals.
The last detail was adding the knotted ribbon to the balloons with Glue Dots.

The Courage & Faith Stamp Set has wonderful, vertically oriented, sentiments. I stamped “May the Lord bless you & keep you , Numbers 6:24” in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used a Something Fancy Die for cutting. I used the same die a second time to cut Moody Mauve Cardstock, which I cut in half, and glued to the back of the sentiment label, giving it a narrow, side border of color.

Next I cut three flowers, using Paper Florist Dies, to place around the top of the sentiment. They were created with Basic White Cardstock for the petals, Lemon Lolly Cardstock for the centers, and topped with Iridescent Rhinestones. I curled the petals with a Bone Folder prior to gluing them together, and placing them on Dimensionals.
I created the background with one of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks. It was fun using this stenciling technique with Moody Mauve Ink, Flirty Flamingo Ink, and a Blending Brush. While smoothing on the color with the Blending Brush, I held the 4″ X 5 1/4″ Cardstock in place with my hand, but you could secure the mask with tape, to a larger piece of cardstock, and cut it to size.
After gluing the stenciled layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, my card was complete.

When you need to make a masculine card, the Earthen Elegance Designer Paper can be your “go to.” I especially like the pattern on today’s card, because it’s so dimensional. Don’t you love it?
The new 2023-2025 In Colors are also good for guys, and I began with a Pebbled Path card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I layered it with the wonderful, patterned, Earthen Elegance DSP, 4″ X 5 1/4″.
Earthen Elegance for a guy
Next, I cut another piece of Pebbled Path Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 4 1/4″, and Earthen Elegance DSP, 3″ X 4″. After gluing the two together, I attached it to the card front with Dimensionals.
The focal point is a Boho Blue Cardstock “fan,” cut with an Earthen Texture Die. This is a favorite die that has score lines, so you can snip and fold for added dimension. I attached it with one Dimensional at the base of the fan.
The sentiment, “You’re so totally awesome,” is from the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set. I stamped it in VersaMark on Pebbled Path Cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. After using a Waves Die for cutting, I attached it with Dimensionals.
All those in favor of adding some bling to a guys card, say “aye!” I added three 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Pebbled Path; aren’t they pretty?

Ellie, the elephant, wanted to be the “star” of the show for this week’s Global Design Project with a birthday theme. She was hand-snipped from Zoo Crew Designer Paper, proudly holding her colorful birthday banner.
Since Ellie was the focal point, she asked to be surrounded by stars in colors that matched her banner. I thought it was a good idea, so I used Stampin’ Blends to color Basic White Cardstock in five colors: Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist, Pumpkin Pie, Petal Pink, and Pool Party. Then, I used two Beautiful Balloons Dies to cut five stars; three smaller, and two larger.
Ellie’s Birthday Card
Ellie’s background is Basic White Cardstock, 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″, embossed with a Basics 3D Embossing Folder. This is one of a group of three folders that is available in the Online Exclusives store. It was out of stock for a while, and I’m happy to say, it is back! Clicking on the links below will take you there.
Prior to embossing, I stamped, “let’s get our celebration on” in Memento Black Ink. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set, and Ellie loves how it’s curved, don’t you?
Beneath the white, embossed, background is Basic Black Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, which is layered on a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Once the layers and stars were glued, it was time for Ellie to hop on. But, first, she wanted to be colored gray, not too light, and not too dark. She was happy with the way I used a Basic Gray Watercolor Pencil and a Blender Pen. If you think she’s blushing, it’s from the Calypso Coral Watercolor Pencil.

What fun I had playing with the Paper Florist Dies for the first time! I’ll picture the dies I used, so you can see how easy it is. The entire set is pictured in my Product List below.
I wanted to keep the background white, and started with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This was layered with Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4 “, given texture with the Stripes Embossing Folder. The folder comes in a 2-pack with the Splatters Embossing Folder.
Paper Florist
To begin my floral arrangement, I cut the greenery, and stems for the buds, from Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper. The buds were cut from Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper, and glued in place.
Second, I cut the petals for three flowers from Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper, and two flowers from Basic White Cardstock. The two flowers were given some Bubble Bath Ink with a Sponge Dauber, and glued together. Before attaching the petals of the three flowers with Dimensionals, I used a Bone Folder to curl the petals.
Third, I cut the centers from Blackberry Bliss Cardstock, and glued them in place. There are other centers that can mix n’ match, with endless possibilities!
A small sentiment was needed to complete my card, provided by the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle. I stamped “hello” in Blackberry Bliss Ink, used its die for cutting, and attached it with a Dimensional.
For a touch of sparkle, I gave the White/Bubble Bath flowers centers of Pastel Adhesive Sequins.
I knew I had to have the Paper Florist Dies when I saw the back cover of the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. Don’t overlook this great set!

The English translation for “agradezco tu amistad” is “I appreciate your friendship.” You’ll find this sentiment in Stampin’ Up’s! new Spanish set, Texturas Naturales. It’s also available in English, and you can see both versions in my Product List below.
I began today’s card by stamping the pot in Copper Clay Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and using an Earthen Textures Die for cutting. Then, I used a second, Earthen Textures Die to cut the branches from Wild Wheat Cardstock.
“I appreciate your friendship”
Next, I used an Irresistible Blooms Die to cut the vertical strip from Copper Clay Cardstock.
Last week, I discovered a good way to add this unusual die-cut to your cards, so here it is again. Cut a piece of Cardstock, 6 1/4″ X 1 1/2″, and adhere it to the same size cut of an Adhesive Sheet. Then, place the Irresistible Blooms Die on top of the cardstock, and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. After cutting, poke out all the parts that aren’t part of the design, before peeling the backing of the Adhesive Sheet.
Leaving the die in place, position it on the card front, pressing to make it stick, before removing the die.
The background is Hello Irresistible Designer Paper, 3 1/2″ X 4 3/4″, given a border with the second largest Stitched With Whimsy Die. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4.
I stamped the sentiment in Copper Clay Ink, used a Stylish Shapes Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.
