It’s Paper Pumpkin time, it’s Paper Pumpkin time……. for those of you who remember the Howdy Doody theme song, that’s the tune I’m singing.
When I first received my October Paper Pumpkin Kit, I made two cards as they were designed. It’s so much fun opening the box, and seeing all of the tissue wrapped supplies, and directions. This month’s kit, Joy To The World, even included eight beautifully decorated envelopes to go with the eight cards.
But, the fun doesn’t stop with the eight designed cards, because you can continue to use the stamp set and ink for additional cards. You can even go outside the box (literally), and use some of the supplies to make your own creations, which is what I did for today’s card. This is known as a Paper Pumpkin Alternative.
Paper Pumpkin Alternative
The brass foil words in the kit are so pretty, and I wanted to use the word, “amour” with a heart. So, I cut a heart from Whisper White Cardstock with a Be Mine Stitched Die, and stamped it in Memento Black Ink with the flower stamp from the kit. After stamping three times, I colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, and Mint Macaron.
The heart is glued to paper that I “stole” from one of the card bases, cut with an Ornate Layers Die, and elevated on Dimensionals that come in the kit. Don’t you love the brass foil lines running through it?
The layer beneath it is Whisper White Cardstock, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die, and embossed with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder. This is glued to the backside of a card base from the kit, so the pretty brass foil lines are on the back.
The last step was gluing “amour” across the heart, and adding a bow of Cherry Cobbler Linen Thread, both in the kit. The supplies, not included in the kit, are in my Product List below, along with Paper Pumpkin Links for ordering. What’s cool is that you have the option of ordering for one month, three months, six months or a year subscription. It would make a great Christmas gift!
Now, would you like to know about next month’s kit? Part of the fun is keeping it a surprise, so we can’t see the entire kit at this point, but there are hints, like this video.
I can also share this information with you. Please note, you have to order by November 10, and don’t delay, because sometimes they sell out. I can’t wait to get these gift card holders! And, do you see that cute, gingerbread house stamp?

The Sounds Of The Season bells are wonderful! I’ve made cards with them in silver and gold, and this time I cut them from Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Aren’t the see-through holly leaves great?
Jingle Bell Cheer
I strung the three bells on Real Red Braided Linen Trim, which happens to be my Host Code Gift for the month of October. The details are below.
I placed the bells on Mini-Dimensionals atop three hexagons, cut with a Stitched Nested Label Die from Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper. This fabulous paper is on sale for just a few more days, because the sale ends October 31. Clicking on its picture below takes you to my store for ordering. Don’t miss out!
The background is Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4 “, on a Pear Pizzazz card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4”.
The sentiment, “Christmas Cheer,” is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink on Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, and cut with the Classic Label Punch.
I was inspired by the Paper Players.

I saw this on Facebook, and thought it was so funny, I wanted to share it with you.
But, in the spirit of Halloween, I needed to make one last Halloween card, or I should say, the spiders did!
The three, very, scary, spiders crawled out of the Little Treat Box Die Set (cut from Basic Black Cardstock). They began weaving a web and a sentiment from the Festive Corners Stamp Set, using Memento Black Ink and lots of ingenuity. Don’t you love the way “trick or treat-happy halloween” goes around the corner? They even figured out how to use the Stamparatus for perfect placement.
Spider’s Halloween Card
The spiders chose Highland Heather Cardstock, using the largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. This was layered on a Granny Apple Green card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″), and the top layer, Garden Green Cardstock, was cut with a smaller Stitched Rectangles Die (3 1/2″ X 2 1/4″).
Knowing that “BOO!” was a favorite Halloween word, they used the Playful Alphabet Dies to cut the word from Regals 6 X 6 Designer Paper (because it had Pumpkin Pie dotted paper). And, they cleverly used Foam Adhesive Sheets, to give the letters, and exclamation point, dimension.
I think the spiders did an impressive job, but they did lose an “o” from the Playful Alphabet Set. It’s a good thing many of the letters in the set are duplicated, because it’s one of my favorite sets for card making.
I was inspired by the theme at TGIF.
And, the colors at Fab Friday.

In The Pines is one of my favorite Bundles from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog. I love trees and green, so today’s card makes me very happy.
In The Pines
This week’s Global Design Project assignment was to case Steffi Helmschrott. It was really fun to case Steffi, because her cards have such an artistic flair.
I began by stamping the largest tree image, from In The Pines Stamp Set, on Whisper White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4 “. Using three shades of green ink (Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz, and Garden Green) I stamped the trees in a row. Then, I added dots in matching colors of green ink, with a stamp that’s in the set.
To give it some texture, I used the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.
Next, I cut three, Whisper White Cardstock trees, using the medium tree from the Pine Woods Dies Set, and glued them on top of the stamped trees.
Before gluing my art piece to the Crumb Cake card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″), I taped two strands of Linen Thread to the back, and tied a bow in the front.
“Season’s Greetings” is from In The Pines, stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink, cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.
For more inspiration from the GDP Design Team, you can click on Steffi’s card. If you like my card, you can “case” it using the supplies in my Product List below.

The Painted Labels Die worked perfectly for today’s Christmas wreath. First, I cut the wreath from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and stamped “Merry Christmas,” from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set, in the middle, using Mossy Meadow Ink.
Pinecone Wreath
Wanting to decorate the wreath, I found the middle-sized bough from the Beautiful Boughs Die set, and used it to cut from Mossy Meadow Cardstock. The pinecones are from the same set, made with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Cardstock.
I made the paper bow with Real Red Cardstock and a Wreath Builder Die. Then, I glued the ribbon strands to the top of the pinecones, and placed them on Dimensionals.
The pretty checked paper behind the wreath is one of the patterns of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper. It was 2″ X 4 1/4″, glued to Whisper White Cardstock that was the size of the card front, until I used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. I added texture by running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. Finally, I glued my art piece to a Thick Whisper White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Heartwarming Hugs is wonderful paper for the holidays, and it’s on sale for the month of October. You can see all of the sale Designer Paper below.
I was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch. They turned it sideways, so I followed suit.

This colorful birthday card was fun to create, using the “splotch” from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and Playful Alphabet Dies.
Splotch & Dot H-A-P-P-Y
First, I stamped the splotch in five colors of ink; Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape, across Whisper White Cardstock that was cut with A Stitched Rectangles Die (4 1/4″ X 3″).
I backed this with Basic Black Cardstock, giving it a 1/16″ border, and glued it to a Thick Whisper White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″).
Next, I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to cut H-A-P-P-Y from cardstock, the same, bright, colors as the splotches. Then, I cut the letters from matching, dotted, Brights 6X6 Designer Paper, and glued the two together. This adds some dimension without using Foam Adhesive Sheets, and they were easily glued on top of the splotches.
To complete my birthday card, I stamped “Birthday,” from the Well Said Stamp Set, in Memento Black Ink, cut it with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals.
Incidentally, I used this splotch on one of my most popular cards on Pinterest. So, you could say, I “cased” myself.
Today’s card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.
