Welcome Baby: B-puppy-b-y

Among the best days of our lives are the days our babies are born. Celebrating these births with a card is a must!

By Su Mohr; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Hand-Lettered Prose Dies, Dog Punch, Well Said Stamp Set, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Argyle embossing; #dogpunch #babycards #handletteredprosedies #wellsaid #stitchedsosweetly #welcomebaby #dogsoncards #puppies #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking #diy

This was such a fun card to make, once I made a few decisions. I knew I wanted to spell “baby” using the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies and 6X6 Designer Series Paper. The “B” is Purple Posy, but this die set doesn’t have upper case letters. It looks like a capital “B” to me, so I went with it. The next “b” is Mint Macaron, and “y” is So Saffron.

What about the “a?” Well, somehow, Dog Punch tossed out the “a,” dressed himself in Seaside Spray DSP, and took its place! He said that before babies are born people usually want to get a puppy (must be hormones), so he wanted to be on the card. I saw some truth in that, so I let him stay.

Dog Punch also wanted to sit on a soft quilt, so I made one with Whisper White Cardstock and the Argyle Embossing Folder. I even trimmed the top and bottom with a Be Mine Stitched Die.

In addition, Dog Punch wanted everyone to know he was welcoming the baby, and we found the word in the Well Said Stamp Set. I managed to match it to the scallop edged blanket with a Stitched So Sweetly Die.

All in all, I think Dog Punch had a good idea. Don’t you?

Daisy Thoughts For You

The Daisy Lane Stamp Set and Daisy Punches continue to be a favorite of mine.

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Medium Daisy Punch, Daisy Lane Stamp Set, Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, Ornate Frames Stamp Set, pearls; #daisylane #peacefulmoments #daisies #daisiesoncards #flowersoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup #2020saleabration

Daisy Thoughts

This daisy was stamped in Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with the Medium Daisy Punch. I curled the petals with my Bone Folder, glued them together, and placed the flower on a Dimensional. The center was made with seven tiny pearls, and yes, the pearls happen to be my Host Code gift for the month of March! You’ll always find my current Host Code beneath my profile photo.

Are you wondering how I made the circle? I didn’t know how I would do it, until I started! LOL! I found the largest Layering Circles Die, and cut the circle from a piece of 4″ X 5 1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock. Using this as a stencil, I attached it with Sticky Notes to an identical piece of Cardstock. Then, I filled in the circle with Pool Party Ink, applied with a Sponge Dauber. I love stenciling, because it’s so much fun to remove the stencil and see the results!

Before attaching the daisy, I stamped the stem, also from the Daisy Lane Stamp set, in Garden Green Ink.

All that remained was the sentiment, which I found in the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set. I stamped “Thinking of you with all my heart” in Garden Green Ink, and used an Ornate frames Die for cutting.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is my Host Code for March. When placing your order (50.00 minimum) there will be a box for you to type in this code, so I can send you pearls in April.

Ornate Garden Gold Dipped Butterfly

Isn’t this gold butterfly beautiful? I’m excited to report that the Butterfly Duet Punch I used for cutting is a recently added Sale-A-Bration item!

By Su Mohr for TGIF: Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Butterfly Duet Punch, Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set, Ornate Layers Dies, Ornate Garden DSP, Positive Thoughts Stamp Set, Gold embossing; #heatembossing #embossingtechnique #butterflies #butterfliesoncards #butterflypunch #2020saleabration #ornategarden #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting

Gold Dipped

The butterfly is from the Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in VersaMark on Whisper White Cardstock, sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool. I still get a kick out of watching the powder shine as it dries.

I used the same heat embossing method with a branch from the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set, and then cut a frame with an Ornate Layers Die. The detail is so pretty!

I saved the sentiment for last, and held my breath while I stamped “Welcome,” because I didn’t want to mess up at this point. It’s from the Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Old Olive Ink, and it turned out okay. Whew!

The background is beautiful, Old Olive and gold, Ornate Garden Designer Paper, layered on a Thick Whisper White card base. The Ornate Garden items will be available April 1. The Butterfly Duet Punch is FREE today-March 31 with a $100 order, while supplies last.

I was inspired by TGIF’s “gold dipped” challenge.

“Together We Can Get Through Anything”

The sentiment from the stamp set, Perfectly Framed, is perfect for today’s uncertain times, “Together we can get through anything.”

By Su Mohr for GDP; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Perfectly Framed Stamp Set, Nature's Thoughts Dies, Ornate Frames Dies, Scripty embossing; #friendshipcards #encouragement #cardchallenges #colorcombos #perfectlyframed # naturesthoughts #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting

Together

I began with a Thick Whisper White card base topped with a distressed layer of Whisper White Cardstock. First, I painted the cardstock with a Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. This was followed by spritzing it with water, drying it with the Heat Tool, and embossing with the Scripty Embossing Folder. Then, I roughed up the edge with my Paper Snips, a technique I learned from my friend, Peggy Noe.

TIP: Scrape one scissor blade (like a knife) along the paper edge. Repeat until the desired effect is achieved.

The flowers were made with a Nature’s Thoughts Die and inked paper in the colors of Petal Pink and So Saffron. The flower die is unique, because the little petals can be pushed from behind and lifted.

The white sprigs are also a Nature’s Thought’s die.

I stamped the sentiment in Pool Party Ink, and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting. The final touch was a bow of Seam Binding Ribbon and Iridescent Sequins.

I was inspired by Global Design Project.

When you’re ready to shop, don’t forget to type my Host Code in the box provided. For a minimum $50.00 order, I will send you pearls in April. Yay!

Only a few more days of Sale-A-Bration. Take advantage, before it’s too late!

Thank you for visiting, and remember, “Together we can get though anything.”

Beautiful Vellum Feathers

Feathers have universal appeal, and Stampin’ Up! seems to always have some for us to use on our projects.

By Su Mohr for Paper Players; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Nature's Thoughts Dies, Beautiful Moments Stamp Set, So Very Vellum, Iridescent Sequins; #friendshipcards #naturesthoughts #soveryvellum #vellum #vellumtechniques #vellumoncards #cardsketches #cardchallenges #handmadecards #cardmaking #diy #handcrafted #papercrafting #feathers #feathersoncards

Vellum Feathers

Today’s feathers were made with So Very Vellum, a FREE Sale-A-Bration item with a qualifying order of $50.00. I cut the feathers, using a Nature’s Thoughts Die, from the three, soft colors, backed them with Whisper White Cardstock, and placed them on Dimensionals.

TIP: Tiny dots of liquid glue behind the vellum dots prevents the glue from showing.

The two, vertical strips, were also made with a Nature’s Thoughts Die, and Whisper White Cardstock.

Wow! the Nature’s Thoughts Die Set has it all, because it also has the die I used for the white rectangle. I love the dainty border, don’t you? You can see the complete set in my Product List below.

Before gluing the white rectangle to the Purple Posy card base, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink. “Collect beautiful moments” is from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set.

A few Iridescent Sequins completed my card.

The Paper Player’s sketch was my inspiration.

Sale-A-Bration is ending March 31, so be sure to take advantage of the free items while they last. Click here to go to my store and start shopping.

Happy Spring

Every other week I get to create a card for the Sisterhood of Crafters Design Team, and today is all about “Spring.”

By Su Mohr for Sisterhood of Crafters Design Team; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Hand-Lettered Prose Dies, Peaceful Poppies DSP, Friendly Silhouettes Dies, Timeless Tulips Stamp Set; #eastercards #spring #springcards #flowersoncards #handlettered #letterdies #cardthemes #peacefulpoppies #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking

Happy Spring

The Peaceful Poppies Designer Paper is wonderful, and I saw this selection as having unusual possibilities. I used a Friendly Silhouettes die to cut the flowers across the top, leaving the green stems and ground at the bottom.

I glued this to Whisper White Cardstock, with a Purple Posy card base.

“Happy Easter, Happy Spring, happy, happy everything” is from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink. I could have stopped there, but decided to add “spring” using the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies. I cut the letters from another selection of Peaceful Poppies Designer Paper, and layered for thickness.

The supplies I used are in my Product List below, so click on the pictures, and have fun shopping. My Host Code gift for the month of March is Pearl Basic Jewels (140 total pearls).  If you order a minimum of $50.00 in March, I will send you the Pearls in April. YAY!
