For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE the talented, Marga Bultena. We’d love to see what you create, so please share it on social media, and tag it #gdp532.

I loved everything about Marga’s card, so it was fun to CASE. I used the same Cloud Cover card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, which I layered with Cloud Cover cardstock, cut with the largest Branching Out Die. After cutting, I embossed it with the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder, and attached it to the card base with Dimensionals.

Beautiful Motifs
Next, I used a Stylish Shapes Die to cut a circle from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a Beautiful Motifs Die to cut a branch from the circle. This is an unusual die, because it’s only a partial cut.

After gluing the white cutout circle to the plaid layer, I used two more Beautiful Motifs Dies to cut foliage from Lost Lagoon Cardstock and Highland Heather Cardstock, and glued them in place.

“Happy Birthday” is from the Lovely Arrangements Stamp Set. I stamped it in Lost Lagoon Ink on Basic White Cardstock, used a Lovely Arrangements Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. Three, Iridescent Pearls were added as a final touch.

This week’s Global Design project is a theme: hearts. There’s lots of inspiration, because Valentine’s Day is around the corner. But, I like to use hearts year-round.

If you haven’t seen Love Notes Mix & Match Designer Paper, you should take a look. I “love” this pattern I cut with the largest Branching Out Die. Before layering it with cardstock for thickness, and placing it on Dimensionals, I stamped “you” in Real Red Ink. This is from the Endless Love Stamp Set; I just covered the “for” when stamping.

A heart for you
To complete the sentiment, I added “love.” It was created with a pattern of Love Notes Mix & Match DSP and Foam Adhesive Sheets. I used the same pattern for the arrow, cut with an Endless Love Die, layered for thickness, and glued in place.

The card base is White Willow Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Prior to attaching my art piece, I embossed the front of the card base with the Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder.

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch challenge. I hope you’ll join in the fun, and share your creation on social media. Don’t forget to tag it #gdp530.

I’m featuring the Fragrant Layers Bundle, which is an Online Exclusive that just became available January 6th. I used a fun, “paper-piecing” technique with a die-cut from the set on today’s card. First, I cut a gingham pattern from Perennial Lavender Designer Paper, 5 1/4″ X 4″. Then, I placed the Fragrant Layers Die on the left side, and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. This piece was glued to Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″, which was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Paper-Piecing Technique
Next, I used the “paper-piecing” technique to fill in (color) the flowers. I used the same die, making two cuts from Celebratory Sips Designer Paper, which created orange, yellow, and red petals. Then, with the help of the Take Your Pick tool to pick up the petals, I glued 15 petals in place. The flower centers were cut from Woven Textures Designer Paper.

“Just a note” is from the Fragrant Layers Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink, used a Fragrant Layers Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. As a final touch, I added three, Garden Epoxy Shapes.

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Night Of Navy, Azure Afternoon, and Balmy Blue. I’ve been wanting to create a card with the Manatee from the Big Little Things Stamp Set, and shades of blue would be perfect! I began by stamping the Manatee in Night Of Navy Ink, fussy cutting, and placing him on Dimensionals.

Manatee
Next, I created his background with Blending Brushes, Basic White Cardstock, and three colors of ink: Night Of Navy, Balmy Blue, and Azure Afternoon. Then, I embossed it with the So Swirly Embossing Folder, and used the third largest Textured Notes Die for cutting.

The next layer was Azure Afternoon Cardstock, cut with the second largest Textured Notes Die. This layer was attached with Dimensionals to Night Of Navy Cardstock, cut with the largest Textured Notes Die, which was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
The sentiment, “Huge Thanks,” is from the Big Little Things Stamp Set. I stamped it in Night Of Navy Ink on a 1″ square of Basic White Cardstock, colored with a Blending Brush and Azure Afternoon Ink. After gluing to the “sea cow,” I attached them with Dimensionals. For a touch of sparkle, I used pin dots of glue to adhere some tiny, retired sequins.

Now it’s your turn to get creative with these colors. Please use the tag #gdp529, when you post on social media.

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE the talented, Ann Alexander. We’d love to see what you create, so please share it on social media, and tag it #gdp528.

To CASE Ann, I began with a Petunia Pop card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Bubble Bath Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, Smoky Slate Cardstock, 1/8″ smaller, and Basic White Cardstock, 1/8″ smaller.

Petals of Beauty
Before gluing the layers, I prepared the top layer. First, I sprayed it with dots, using a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend, being careful not to damage the brush. Then, I used Pool Party Ink to stamp flowers from the Petals of Beauty Stamp Set. Next, I used Blending Brushes with Petunia Pop Ink and Soft Sea Foam Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After coloring the cardstock, I used Petals Of Beauty Dies to cut the flowers and leaves Then, I glued the leaves, and attached the flowers with Dimensionals.

“Thank you” is from the Perfectly Pears Stamp Set, stamped in VersaMark on Basic Black Cardstock, sprinkled with White Powder, and set with the Heat Tool. Then, I used a Words Of Beauty Die for cutting, glued a Pool Party sprig, cut with a Petals Of Beauty Die, to the back, and attached it with Dimensionals. To complete my design, I added Rainbow Dots to the flower’s centers.

Meet Patti, the panda who is ready to celebrate a birthday, for this week’s Global Design Project, “reasons to party.”

Patti
The Big Little Things Stamp Set has adorable, realistic, animals. Patti, the panda, said she was the cutest, and insisted on being featured on today’s card. She said she was super easy to work with. In her words, “just stamp me in black ink on white paper, and cut me out with scissors. Be careful around my ears.”

Next, she wanted a bamboo forest for her background. She said she was a growing girl, and needed to eat a lot of bamboo. To create the foliage, I cut Splendid Autumn Designer Paper, Mossy Meadow Cardstock, and Old Olive Cardstock, with Beautiful Motifs Dies and Petals Of Beauty Dies. Before gluing the foliage to the Basic White layer, 4″ X 5 1/4″, I splattered it with dots using a Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend. Then, I added a strip of Splendid Autumn DSP to the bottom, 3 7/8″ X 1″, and glued the layer to a Mossy Meadow card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

We debated about where Patti would sit, and decided to let her sit on the sentiment label. “Big Birthday Wishes” is from her stamp set, cut with a Fragrant Layers Die. She told me I had to cut it twice; once from Basic White Cardstock, and once from Nests Of Winter Designer Paper, so I could frame the words in the green and white stripe. Pretty smart for a panda, huh?

Patti was excited to share her card with Global Design Project, and can’t wait to see what everyone creates for the “reasons to party” theme. She’ll be upset if you don’t tag it #gdp527.
