Forever Forest for Global Design Project 419

It’s that time of year, and this week’s Global Design Project is a theme: ‘Tis the season.

Christmas trees are a favorite image on holiday cards, and the Forever Forest Stamp Set has wonderful trees. I began by stamping the row of trees, two times, across Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″. Three ink colors were used: Shaded Spruce Garden Green, and Granny Apple Green.

After stamping, I used the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder for texture. Then, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Christmas Forest

Next, I wanted to say “Merry Christmas” in a special way. It’s been way too long since I’ve used the Alphabest Stamp Set, and today I put this fun set to use! I stamped the letters, “m-e-r-r-y” in Real Red Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used one of the outline stamps for added detail, and cut the letters using the Best Label Punch. After placing Dimensionals on the letters, I attached them to the card front.

I found the right size “Christmas” in the Christmas Classics Stamp Set, and stamped it in Real Red Ink on Basic White Cardstock. There is a die in the Cheerful Daisies Die Set that is the same shape as the Best Label Punch, and the perfect size for cutting “Christmas.”

After attaching “Christmas” with Dimensionals, there was one last detail; painting the trees with the Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush. It really sparkles in person. I noticed it was on the “low inventory” list, so don’t wait to order, if you want it soon.

Be inspired by our designers, then create a holiday card, and hang it in our gallery.

Bruce the Beaver

Bruce the Beaver was especially happy, because he was the perfect “round” shape for this week’s Global Design Project. Be inspired by our designers use of this sketch. Then, create a card of your own, and hang it in our gallery.

I began by stamping Bruce in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used his Fluffiest Friends Die for cutting. Then, he asked to be colored with Stampin’ Blends in two shades of brown: Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. Plus, he made sure I colored his heart made of sticks.

Next, Bruce said I needed to add pretty vertical lines, and we agreed that an Irresistible Blooms Die would be just right. I did this by adhering a Mossy Meadow pattern of One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Paper, 1 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, to an equal size of Adhesive Sheet. Then, placing the die on top of the designer paper, I rolled it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

After cutting, I peeled away the backing, and attached the die-cut to the middle of Basic White Cardstock, 3 5/8″ X 4 7/8″. This layer was glued to Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″, which was glued to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “hi friend,” is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set, cut with its die. Bruce wanted to say this, because he wants to be friends with everyone. He’s so cute; I don’t think that will be too difficult for him, do you?

That’s when I thought the card was complete, but Bruce said it was Fall, and he needed colorful leaves. He said the leaves could be easily cut with Fluffiest Friends Dies from scraps of designer paper (One Horse Open Sleigh and Masterfully Made). Then, he grabbed the Artistically Inked Stamped Set, and stamped dots in Mossy Meadow Ink. I stuck Bruce to the card front before he got anymore ideas!

Night Divine for Global Design Project 417

When I saw this week’s Global Design Project colors, I thought of Hello Irresistible Designer Paper, because it blends these colors beautifully.

I chose the Night Divine Bundle to combine with this pretty designer paper. The bundle was designed for Christmas cards, but it can easily be adapted to sympathy cards.

Featuring: Night Divine Stamp Set, Night Divine Dies, Countryside Corners Dies, Hello Irresistible DSP; #countrysidecorners #nightdivine #thelordismyshepherd #sympathycards #helloirresistible #colorcombos #colorchallenges #shepherdandsheep #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stamping #stampinup #sumohr

The Lord is my Shepherd

I began by cutting 1/2″ strips of the designer paper (two in Petal Pink, and five in Lost Lagoon), and gluing them to Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″. After gluing the strips 1/16″ apart, I used the largest Countryside Corners Die for cutting. Then, I glued my die-cut to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I cut the nativity, using a Night Divine Die, from Pretty Peacock cardstock. After snipping the shepherd free from the scene, I attached him to the card with Dimensionals. The sheep were cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock, and attached with Dimensionals.

“The Lord is my shepherd” is from the Night Divine Stamp Set. I stamped it in Pretty Peacock Ink, cut with the second smallest Countryside Corners Die, and attached with Dimensionals.

While I was designing this card, another idea popped into my head, which I will post tomorrow.

We’d love to see you use these colors in your design, then hang it in our gallery!

Gorgeous Garden for Global Design Project 416

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) Kayla Renee’s beautiful card.

See how our designers “cased” Kayla, then join in the fun, and add your design to our gallery.

My design began with A Gorgeous Garden Die, used to cut Delightful Floral Designer Paper. After Cutting, I glued the 4″ X 5 3/8″ die-cut to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Gorgeous Garden Leaves

Next, I used the second largest Radiating Stitches Die to cut Delightful Floral Designer Paper, which I glued to the center of the card front.

The leaves and twigs were cut with Autumn Leaves Dies from Lost Lagoon Cardstock, and Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Paper. They were glued flat, with the exception of the center leaf, which was raised on Dimensionals.

“Thanks” is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set, cut with its Wonderful Thoughts Die. I stamped it in Pretty Peacock Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, which I adhered to a Piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet for dimension.

To complete the design, I added five, Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

Houndstooth for Global Design Project 415

SURPRISE!!! Stampin’ Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING on qualifying orders for THREE DAYS, October 9, 10, and 11!

This week’s Global Design Project is a theme: “pattern.” See how our designers used the theme, then create your design, and hang it in our gallery.

I found a houndstooth pattern in the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks Set that would be perfect for a masculine birthday card. Using a Blending Brush, and holding the mask in place, I applied Crumb Cake Ink to Basic White Cardstock (3″ X 4 1/4″), beneath the mask. Then, I layered it on Crumb Cake Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 4 1/2″.

Houndstooth and “Hound Dog”

The layer beneath the pattern is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, glued to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″. Prior to gluing, I gave the white layer texture with a Basics 3D Embossing Folder.

Someone else thought the pattern was perfect also, namely “Hound Dog,” nicknamed by his friends from the Zoo Crew Designer Paper.

He said he’s been waiting for me to make a card with a houndstooth pattern, and was hoping to be the focal point.

After snipping him from the DSP, I placed him on Dimensionals. His white layer is 1 3/8″ X 2 5/8″, backed with Crumb Cake, 1 1/2″ X 2 3/4″.

“Hound Dog” chose the sentiment, YAY YOU,” because he likes saying this on birthday cards. We found it in the Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set, and I stamped it in Crumb Cake Ink. He is very happy, and can’t wait to show his Zoo Crew friends his birthday card.

Brightest Glow for Global Design Project 414

This week’s Global Design Project is a fun sketch challenge. I decided to pair The Brightest Glow Stamp Set and Labels Aglow Dies (2023-2024 Annual Catalog) with Winter Meadow Designer Paper (September-December 2023 Mini Catalog).

The card base is Misty Moonlight Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. I topped it with Winter Meadow Designer Paper, 5 3/8″ X 4 1/8″, giving the DSP a 1/16″ border.

For the large, circle, I used a Labels Aglow Die to cut the DSP, making a bunch of tiny holes.

By Su Mohr for GDP 414; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Brightest Glow Stamp Set, Labels Aglow Dies, Winter Meadow DSP, More Dazzle Paper; #brightestglow #labelsaglow #wintermeadow #cardsketch #cardchallenge #christmascards #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking #papercrafting #gdp414 #stamping #stampinup #sumohr

Merry & Bright

To make the holes shine, I used a Deckled Circles Die to cut More Dazzle Specialty Paper, which I glued to the back of the DSP, before gluing it to the card base. It’s very sparkly in person!

Next, I stamped “All is Merry and Bright,” from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set, in Shaded Spruce. After stamping, I used the smaller Labels Aglow Die for cutting, and placed it on Dimensionals.

Prior to attaching the sentiment, I cut two pine boughs from Winter Meadow DSP, with a Joy Of Noel Die, and glued them beneath the sentiment.

For a last bit of “bright,” I added three 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Moody Mauve.

Be inspired by our designer’s creations, then create your own design and hang it in our gallery.
