You’re Soda-lightful

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, and I was excited to use the Simply Sparkling Bundle. See how the other designers used the colors, then add your card to our gallery.

I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Basic Black Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″. The top layer is Basic White Cardstock, 3 5/8″ X 4 7/8″, embossed with a Basics 3D Embossing Folder for texture. Doesn’t the black make the colors pop?

To create the soda can, I stamped it in VersaMark on Basic White Cardstock, sprinkled it with Silver Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool.  After using its Simply Sparkling Die for cutting, I colored the can with a Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend, and stamped the lemon halves, and “always refreshing,” in Daffodil Delight Ink.

Next, I cut two more cans; one from Delightful Floral DSP in Pool Party, and one from Basic White Cardstock that I colored with Petal Pink Ink and a Blending Brush. I also cut two sets of bubbles from a Silver Foil Sheet.

The sentiment “makes” the card, don’t you think? I stamped “you’re soda-lightful” in Memento Black Ink, used a Sending Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

Bee Mine for Global Design Project 424

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) Charlet Mallet’s fun design.

See how our designers “cased” Charlet, then join in the fun, and add your design to our gallery.

The Bee Mine Bundle is a favorite from the upcoming January-April 2024 Mini Catalog (available Jan. 4) and the one I chose for this week’s design.

I began with a Soft Sea Foam card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I stamped hearts, in Soft Sea Foam Ink, on Basic White Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 4 1/2″, and glued it in the middle of the card front.

By Su Mohr for GDP 424; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Bee My Valentine Stamp Set, Bee Builder Punch, Bee Mine DSP; #beemine #beemyvalentine #beesoncards #bees #beepunch #handmadecards #handcrafted #sneakpeek #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stamping #stampinup #sumohr

Bee Mine

Next, I cut a yellow plaid pattern of Bee Mine Designer Paper, 4″ X 2″. This was layered with Soft Sea Foam Cardstock, 4″ X 1 3/4″, layered with Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 1/2″.

Prior to gluing the layers, I stamped “Bee Mine” and the bee’s trail in Memento Black Ink, on the white layer.  These stamps are in the Bee My Valentine Stamp Set.

The Bee Mine Stamp Set also has stamps to create the bee. I stamped the bee’s body and wings in Daffodil Delight Ink, and the stripes, face and antennae in Memento Black Ink. The bundle comes with the Bee Builder Punch for cutting. So fun!

After gluing the wings and antennae, I gave the bee cheeks, and attached her to her trail with Dimensionals.

The envelope flap was decorated with the same, yellow plaid, Bee Mine Designer Paper. I cut a 6″ X 2 1/4″ section, glued it to the flap, and used Paper Snips to cut it to size, using the flap as a template.

Beary Christmas for Global Design Project 423

The Beary Christmas Designer Paper has the cutest bears, and I just had to say, “Beary Christmas.”

I love alphabet dies, because you can say what you need to say! Here’s a sneak peek of the new, Mini Alphabet Dies, coming in the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog.

By Su Mohr for GDP 423; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Beary Christmas DSP, Mini Alphabet Dies; #bearychristmas #minialphabetdies #alphabetdies #jan-april2024minicatalog #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sneakpeeks #gdp423 #bears #bearsoncards #christmascards #stamping #stampinup #sumohr

Beary Christmas

This die set is different, because it cuts the entire alphabet with one trip through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. There are duplicates of the letters used most frequently, so I was able to cut “Beary Christmas” from one piece of Balmy Blue Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 5 1/2″. I did cut the letters a second time though, so I could layer the letters for thickness.

The background for my letters is a wonderful pattern of Beary Christmas Designer Paper, 5 1/4″ X 4″, glued to a Thick Basic White card base. I love the whimsical feel of the letters, don’t you?

I used another pattern of Beary Christmas DSP to decorate the envelope flap of our Basic White Medium Envelope. It’s easy to cut a 5 3/4″ X 2 1/4″ piece of DSP, glue it to the flap, and trim the excess with Paper Snips, using the flap as a template.

See how our designers used the “letter” theme, then create your own design, and hang it in our gallery.

Meandering Meadows for Global Design Project 422

This week’s Global Design Project is a fun, sketch challenge.

I began by creating a template of the four squares with a Stylish Shapes Die and scrap paper. After cutting the squares from scrap paper, 4″ X 5″, I placed the template on top of Meandering Meadows Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and repeated cutting the squares.

This gorgeous, Meandering Meadows Designer Paper and Garden Meadows Stamp Set are available now in Online Exclusives. Clicking on their pictures in my Product List below will take you there.

Four Squares Design

After cutting, I glued the designer paper, with the four “holes,” on an Orchid Oasis card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I layered the “cut-out” squares on cardstock for thickness, and attached them to the “holes” with Dimensionals.

“Happy Birthday” is from the Garden Meadow Stamp Set. It was stamped in Orchid Oasis Ink on Meandering Meadows DSP. After stamping, I used a Stylish Shapes Die for cutting, layered it for thickness, and attached it with Dimensionals.

The final touch was adding three, Brushed Brass Butterflies. The butterflies are my gift for the month of November. See below how you can make them yours!

Gardening

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, and I thought the red, green, and blue would suit the Garden Meadow Bundle perfectly. See how the other designers used the colors, then add your card to our gallery.

I began by stamping images from the Garden Meadow Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and cutting them with their dies in the bundle. Then, I colored them with Stampin’ Blends. I didn’t have Lemon Lime Twist, so substituted it with Parakeet Party.

The background was created with Basic White Cardstock, cut with a wonderful Garden Meadow Die ( first photo), glued to Delightful Floral DSP in Pool Party, and glued to Masterfully Made DSP in Lemon Lime Twist. The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I stamped “thinking of you” in Lemon Lime Twist Ink on the Delightful Floral DSP, and used a Timeless Arrangements Die for cutting.

Prior to gluing, and attaching the elements to the card front with Dimensionals, I glued a branch to the back of the sentiment label. The branch was cut with a Gorgeously Made Die from Masterfully Made Designer Paper.

I suggest getting the Garden Meadow Bundle now, while it’s available!
