Leaves are so beautiful; they are perfect for cards, and the theme for this week’s Global Design Project.

Fall Leaves
I began my design with a Rich Razzleberry card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The next layer is a wonderful pattern of Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die.

The focal point is a leaf, cut from Cork Specialty Paper, using a Stitched Leaves Die, which you can see in the first photo. Next, I used a Stitched Rectangles Die (2 1/4″ X 3 1/2″) to cut a Basic White Cardstock rectangle. Then, I used the same leaf die to cut the stitched leaf outline.
The border was created with Brushed Metallic Cardstock, cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die, one size larger.
After gluing the layers together, I attached it with Dimensionals. I used three strips of left-over edges of Dimensionals. You know, the ones that pile up, but we can’t throw them away. LOL!

“Hello” is from the coordinating, Love Of Leaves Stamp Set, stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ink, and cut with a Stitched Leaves Die. Isn’t this leaf cute? I attached it with Dimensionals, and added a bow of gold, Simply Elegant Trim.

Our designers have lots of gorgeous leaf designs to share with you. I hope you are inspired, and will hang your creation in our gallery.

I’m also sharing with TGIF.

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch, which is always a fun challenge. Since I’ve been making Christmas cards, the three flowers in the sketch are poinsettias.

Noel Poinsettias
Here is the sketch. Please join in the fun, and add your creation to our gallery.

First, using a Blending Brush, I colored Basic White Cardstock with Real Red Ink. Second, I used a Detailed Poinsettia Die to cut the petals, and an embossing die to make the veins of the two larger poinsettias. The smaller poinsettia was cut and embossed with the same die. Two rounds of petals were cut for each poinsettia, and attached with Dimensionals.

For the middle of the sketch, I used an Ornate Layers Die to cut Thick Basic White Cardstock, and stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen Ink.
“Noel” is from the Tidings and Trimmings Stamp Set, which fit nicely between the poinsettias. Then, I glued the middle die-cut to green, striped, Tidings of Christmas Designer Paper, 5 1/4″ X 4″. The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The final step was adding a touch of gold. The poinsettia centers are Metallic Pearls, and the sprig is Brushed Metallic Cardstock, cut with a Poinsettia Die.

What’s black and white, and Cinnamon Cider all over? Today’s Global Design Project! This week is a fun color challenge; black and white, and a color of your choice. I chose Cinnamon Cider for my Fall card with Stitched Leaves. Aren’t the leaves pretty, cut from Expressions in Ink Designer Paper? And, I love that there are dies to “emboss” the stitching.

Pumpkin & Leaves
After cutting the leaves, I stamped a pumpkin, from the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set, in Stazon Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, and used a Detailed Pumpkins Die for cutting. The background is a layer of Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die, and embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

Prior to embossing the layer, I stamped the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider Ink. “So thankful for you” is from the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set. The layer is glued to a Cinnamon Cider card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Did you notice the cute tie on the pumpkin? It is Black & White Gingham Trim, colored with a Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blend. Stampin’ Blends have alcohol content, making them great coloring tools for ribbon, because they dry quickly.

What color would you choose? See what our designers chose, then get creative, and hang your design in our gallery.

Today, the Global Design Project Designers are “caseing” Wilma De Korte. What a fun design, with stamped flowers, and a masked center!

Masked Dahlias
Here is Wilma’s design. You can click on her card for more inspiration, then add your own card to our gallery.

I began with a Petal Pink card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Next, I stamped the pretty flower from the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set. This stamp set has 12 stamps, some “Distinktive,” and with “two-step” stamping possibilities. It’s one you don’t want to miss, especially because it’s FREE (with a 100.00 order) during Sale-a-bration.
Sale-a-bration ends September 30, so don’t delay. You can see the entire set by clicking on the picture in my Product List below.
I stamped the flower, randomly, in three colors of ink; Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Flirty Flamingo. The middle, white space, was masked with Vellum. I tried cardstock, but it was too thick to leave a clean line from the stamped flowers.
“Hello” is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, stamped in Stazon Black Ink, cut with an Ornate Frames Die, and attached with Dimensionals.

To complete the sentiment, the word “friend” was created with Playful Alphabet Dies.
First, I attached a 1″strip of Subtles 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper in Petal Pink to a 1″ strip of Foam Adhesive Sheet, placing the letters on top, and running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I turned the letters upside down, and ran it through a second time to make sure it was a good cut.
The Foam Adhesive Sheet is an easy way to give the small letters wonderful dimension, and it’s easy to peel the backing and stick them to the card front. I placed a ruler on the card, so they could be lined up evenly.
The last touch was adding three Loose Flower Flourishes. Thank you, Wilma, for the great inspiration!

We have a “word play” theme for you this week at Global Design Project. And, the word is “thanks,” in my native language.
It was time to bring out the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, where I would be sure to get lots of inspiration. I definitely wanted to use the word “thanks” in large type, with the sentiment, “from the bottom of my heart.”

One thing lead to the next, and I found myself using my favorite, Floral Heart Die, once again. First, I cut the heart from a piece of Expressions In Ink Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I glued the designer paper to a Thick Basic White card base, and replaced the cut-out heart in its hole. The solid leaves were glued to hold it in place, and I left some sprigs free to lift, for dimension.

“from the bottom of my heart”
Next, I cut a second Floral Heart from Fresh Freesia, In-Color 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper. This time, I used just the center heart, where I stamped the word, “thanks,” in Rich Razzleberry Ink.
Oh, I forgot to say, before gluing things together, I stamped “from the bottom of my heart,” in Fresh Freesia Ink. Using the Stamparatus kept me calm while stamping this long sentiment. If you are unfamiliar with this tool, you can click on the picture in my Product List to read about it.
The last detail was adding some Artistry Bloom Sequins for a bit of sparkle.

This clean & simple card was easily made with the supplies in my Product List below.
Check out the projects by our design team. Then, add your card of “thanks” to our gallery.

The So Many Snowflakes Die Set has a wonderful die that worked perfectly for today’s Global Design Project Sketch.

Thank You Snow Much
I began by cutting Basic White Cardstock with a Stitched Rectangles Die, 3″ X 4 1/4″. Then, I used the So Many Snowflakes Die to cut the center, where it fit perfectly. The Snowflakes Die was used a second time to cut from the blue patterned, Harvest Meadow Designer Paper. This time, I used the center from the cut to fill in the hole.

I glued my die-cuts to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Prior to gluing, I embossed the card front with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

“Thank you snow much” is from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Black Stazon Ink, and cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die. The die is 1 1/4″ X 3″, and I used a size larger, Stitched Rectangles Die, to cut the length, making the label fit the sentiment.
Prior to attaching the sentiment with Dimensionals, I glued a Wonderful Snowflake embellishment, which you see beneath it. To complete the card, I added some Metallic Pearls. All of today’s supplies are in my Product List below.

See how our design team used the sketch, then get started creating your own idea, so you can hang it in our gallery.
