When I saw that this week’s Global Design Project was a color challenge, using Blushing Bride, Misty Moonlight, and Mint Macaron, I thought of our Whimsical Trees Bundle. For those of you familiar with the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper, you know that these are its colors. What a fun color combination for Christmas cards!

Trio of trees
I began by stamping a Blushing Bride rectangle in the center of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. This was done with a Watercolor Shapes Stamp, “stamping off” the Blushing Bride Ink to make it a lighter shade. “Stamping off” means that I inked the stamp, then stamped on scratch paper before stamping on my project.
Next, I masked the pink rectangle with a sticky note, and added a splattering of Misty Moonlight dots. I did this by flicking the brush end of the Stampin’ Blend against the lid. My laundry room basin came in handy, to insure I didn’t make a mess.
I love the tall, skinny, tree, a Christmas Trees Die, and used it to cut from three colors of cardstock; Misty Moonlight, Blushing Bride, and Macaron Mint.

The sentiment, “joy,” is from the Whimsical Trees Stamp Set, stamped in Mint Macaron Ink, and cut with the smallest Stitched So Sweetly Die. This die-cut is so cute, I use it whenever I have a word small enough to fit.

I thought I was finished, when the idea to add a bright star, came to mind. A small Rhinestone Jewel made a perfect, bright, star, don’t you think?

Be inspired by our GDP Designers, then create your own card, and hang it in our gallery.

For this week’s Global Design Project, we were given Stesha Bloodhart’s Christmas card for inspiration. Her beautiful card gave me the opportunity to use my favorite little bird from the Birds and Branches Stamp Set, which I stamped in Cherry Cobbler Ink, and cut with its Birds & More die.

Christmas Bird
The bird is perched on a branch of Basic White Cardstock, sponged with Mossy Meadow Ink, and cut with a Pinecone Die. The snipped section you see is actually “left-over” from a card I had previously designed. You know how that happens, right?

Next, I used the largest, plain, Layering Circles Die to cut Basic White Cardstock, and gave it texture with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. Then, I backed the white circle with Mossy Meadow Cardstock, cut with the largest, scalloped edge, Layering Circles Die, and placed it on Dimensionals.
The background is Neutrals 6X6 Designer Paper in a Crumb Cake plaid, 5 1/4″ X 4″, with a distressed edge. Stesha uses this technique often, which I accomplished with the edge of my Paper Snips.
The card base is Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“Merry Christmas” is from the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set, stamped in VersaMark on Mossy Meadow Cardstock, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool.
I used our new “early-release” Eden’s Die for cutting, which you’ll be able to order tomorrow, November 2nd. You’ll want the entire Eden’s Garden Bundle!!!! Details below.

Click on Stesha’s card to see how the other designers cased her card. Then, you can case it, and share it in our gallery.

This week’s Global Design Project is all about pumpkins, so I grabbed the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle, and stamped two pumpkins. One pumpkin was stamped in Pool Party Ink and one in Cinnamon Cider Ink, then cut with their Detailed Pumpkin Die.
My pretty pumpkins are sitting on wood, from In Good Taste Designer Paper, cut with an Ornate Layers Die.

Thanksgiving Pumpkins
The background is Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper, 4 1/2″ X 2 1/2″, glued to Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4 “, embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4”.
“Thanksgiving” was created with a Word Wishes Die, cut from Cork Specialty Paper. I can’t get enough of this cork! Not only does it look great, but it feels soft!

To play with more cork, I cut leaves, using a Giving Gifts Die. Remember? This is the one that cuts five different leaves at the same time. Additional leaves were cut, using Subtles 6X6″ Designer Paper in Pool Party and Mint Macaron plaid. I attached the leaves with Dimensionals, and my Thanksgiving card was complete.

Visit all of our designer’s projects for inspiration, then post your creation in our gallery.

I was also inspired by Fusion.

Welcome to Global Design Project’s weekly challenge! For today’s sketch design, I chose to feature a returning favorite, the Snow Wonder Stamp Set with coordinating, Snow Time Dies. Who doesn’t love an adorable snowman?

Sketch for a Snowman
I began the scene with a favorite pattern of Harvest Meadow Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. After gluing this to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I cut a 3″ X 3″ square from the same designer paper. This was backed with Thick Basic White Cardstock, 1/8″ larger, for a 1/16″ border, and attached to the card front with Dimensionals. Then, I used a Seasonal Swirls Die to cut a wreath from Champagne Foil, and glued it to the square, leaving the right side free.

Now for the focal point! I stamped the Snow Wonder snowman in Soft Suede Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, and used its Snow Time Die for cutting.
Next, I stamped the sentiment, “Happy Christmas,” in Balmy Blue Ink, and used its die for cutting. The snowman wanted to hold the sign, so I glued it to his belly before attaching him with Dimensionals.

For a bit of blue sparkle, I added a few Artistry Blooms Sequins. Don’t you love self-adhesive sequins?
I also decorated the envelope flap by embossing it with a Meadow Moments Embossing Folder, which you can see in the first photo.

Here is the fun sketch for you to use for inspiration. I’d love to see your creation in our gallery.

Welcome to this week’s Global Design Project; a fun color challenge, using Real Red, Basic Black, and Sahara Sand.
Joy to the World is one of my favorite Christmas carols, and the musical notes are on our Merry Melody Embossing Folder. I’m not a musician, and only know this because I was told. Since it’s a very old carol, I wanted to make the sheet music look old and worn.

Joy to the World
First, I embossed Basic White Cardstock, 5″ X 3 3/4″, with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. Then, I used Sahara Sand Ink and a Blending Brush for coloring. The fun part was roughing it up by dragging a scissor blade along the edges, and I gave it more crumpling with my fingers.
The background for my Christmas Carol is a Real Red card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with Regals 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper in a Real Red plaid.

Now, for the word, “JOY.” It was created with Playful Alphabet Dies, Pattern Party Designer Paper, and Foam Adhesive Sheets.
I attached a 1″X 2″ piece of black, Pattern Party Designer Paper, to a 1″ X 2″ piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet, placed the letters on top, and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I turned the letters upside down, and ran it through a second time to make sure it was a good cut.
The Foam Adhesive Sheet is an easy way to give the small letters wonderful dimension, and it’s easy to peel the backing and stick them to the card front, especially when they are purposely crooked.

For a bit of embellishment, I added some holly and berries, cut with Christmas Trimmings Dies. The leaves were cut from Basic White Cardstock, colored with a Blending Brush and Mossy Meadow Ink. The berries were cut from Real Red Cardstock, and all were glued flat on the sheet music.

I hope you’ll be inspired by the entire design team, and add your creation to our gallery.

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE Madeleine Mrotzek’s gorgeous card.

To CASE Madeleine, I used the Welcoming Window Stamp Set, Window Flower Box Dies, and Peach Dies for a clean & simple card. You can see details of these items in my Product List below.
Beginning with the bricks in Blushing Bride Ink, I stamped three times in each corner of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I stamped “Welcome” in Crumb Cake Ink, and glued this layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Welcome Window
The window was cut with a Window Flower Box Die from Crumb Cake Cardstock, and raised with a thin strip of Dimensionals along the middle of the frame. This seemed enough support, without having to put Dimensionals on the narrower sides.

The blossoming branch was created with Peach Dies. The branch is Crumb Cake Cardstock, the leaves are Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, and the blossoms are Flirty Flamingo Cardstock. After gluing this in place, my CASE card was complete.

I hope you’ll be inspired by the entire design team, and add your creation to our gallery.
