Branching Out Just Because

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

Today’s card is a fun color challenge, using Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive. The first thing I did was use the Extraordinary Flora Stamp with Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After stamping the numerous flowers and leaves with one stamp, I used the Extraordinary Flora Die to cut them all out at one time. If this doesn’t make sense, check out the bundle in my Product List below. Then, I colored the pieces with Stampin’ Blends in Calypso Coral and Old Olive.

Just Because

Next, I cut the layer for the flowers from Basic White Cardstock, using the fourth largest Branching Out Die. This layer was attached, with Dimensionals, to Woven Textures Designer Paper, cut with the largest Branching Out Die. The card base is Crumb Cake, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The word, “just” was cut from Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Paper with a Words Of Beauty Die, layered for thickness, and glued in place. The word “because,” from the Words Of Beauty Stamp Set, was stamped in Old Olive Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After stamping, I used its Words Of Beauty Die for cutting. Then, I attached the flowers with Dimensionals, and glued “because” on top.

As a last detail, I attached three Pearls Of Beauty.

“BOO” for Friendly Halloween Card

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

It’s time for a friendly, Halloween card, and the Choose Happy Stamp Set is not to be overlooked! First, I stamped two pumpkins in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used scissors for fussy cutting. Second, I colored them with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Third, I turned them into Jack-O-Lanterns by stamping the face (Choose Happy Stamp Set) in Memento Black Ink. Fourth, to say “BOO,” the Jack-O-Lanterns needed a “B,” which is a Mini Alphabet die-cut. I used Basic Black Cardstock with an Adhesive Sheet to give it Dimension. Fifth, I attached “BOO” to Basic White Cardstock, cut with the second smallest Textured Notes Die.

“BOO”

For the background, I used the second largest Textured Notes Die to cut Gorgeous Grape Cardstock. Then, I gave it texture with the So Swirly Embossing Folder. After embossing, I rubbed it with the VersaMark Pad, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. This layer was glued to Basic Black Cardstock, cut with the largest Textured Notes Die. Both layers were glued to a Gorgeous Grape card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

As a final touch, I added three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, and my friendly Halloween card was complete.

Fall is in the air, and the perfect time to use the Gathering Moments Bundle! I began by stamping leaves, acorns and berries in four colors of ink on Basic Beige Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Early Espresso, and Cajun Craze. Then, I used their Gathering Moments Dies for cutting.

Merry Christmas Snow Scene

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

We’re having warm days in San Diego, so I enjoyed cooling down with today’s, snow scene, Christmas card.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Scenic Adventures, Thoughtful Journey, Branching Out, Words For The Season; #thoughtfuljourney #wordsfortheseason #scenicadventures #branchingout #christmascards #handmadecards #cardmaking # #snowscene #pinetrees #stampinup

Snow Scene for Christmas

I began by using a Scenic Adventure Die to cut the row of trees from Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 3″, along with a pair of trees.

Then, I glued the row of trees to Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper, 6″ X 6″, and used the second largest Branching Out Die for cutting. This would give the entire piece a nice, stitched edge.

After this first cut, I decided to use the largest Branching Out Die to cut Basic White Cardstock for a frame. After gluing the two together, I attached it with Dimensionals to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued the pair of trees in place.

“Merry Christmas” was cut from Silver Foil, using Word Wishes Dies, a retired set. But, there is a new set, Words for the Season, that includes these words. You can see it in my Product List below. To complete the sentiment, I dotted the “i” with a tiny Rhinestone.

Stylish Shapes for Christmas

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

Hot off the press: Stampin’ Up! is having a one-day-only stamp sale, tomorrow September 18. Come back tomorrow for a link to the sale product list.

The starting point for today’s card was to cut three squares, using the third largest, Stylish Shapes Die. The squares were cut from two designer papers: Season Of Elegance and Regals Distressed Patterns. Then, I glued the squares together, turned on the diagonal, and placed them on Dimensionals. To decorate the squares, I used a Scenic Adventure Die to cut pine trees from the same, Season Of Elegance DSP. The trees were layered with cardstock for thickness, and glued in place.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Gathering Leaves Embossing Folder, Stylish Shapes Dies, Scenic Adventure Dies, Regal Distressed DSP, Season Of Elegance DSP, Adhesive Backed Birds; #gatheringleaves #scenicadventure #stylishshapes #seasonofelegance #texturedmetallic #handmadecards #cardmaking #stampinup

Stylish Shapes Christmas

Next, I cut the background from Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and gave it texture with the Gathering Leaves Embossing Folder. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The word “Christmas” was cut from gold, Textured Metallic Specialty Paper. After layering it for thickness, I glued it on top of the trees. To complete the design, I added three Adhesive Backed Birds in gold.

Misty Moonlight Sympathy Card

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week’s challenge at TGIF is an “inspiration challenge.”

I remembered a similar scene from Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper, which made it easy to play along.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Peace On Earth Stamp Set, Thoughtful Journey DSP, Textured Notes Dies; #thoughtfuljourney #peaceonearth #texturednotesdies #rhinestones #sympathycards #mistymoonlight #tgif #inspirationchallenge #stampinup

Misty Moonlight

I began by cutting the designer paper with the second largest, Textured Notes Die. Then, I layered it on Fresh Freesia Cardstock, cut with the largest, Textured Notes Die. After gluing the layers together, I glued them to a Misty Moonlight card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Isn’t the color name, Misty Moonlight, perfect for this card?

I thought it would make a good sympathy card, and stamped “with deepest sympathy” in Secret Sea Ink. This sentiment is from the Peace On Earth Stamp Set from the 2025 September-December Mini Catalog, available September 3. To complete the card, I added twinkle to the sky with three, Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
