“Friends are like seashells…you collect them along the way.” Isn’t that a great sentiment? It’s in the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set, a favorite from the January-June Mini Catalog, that’s carrying over to the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. Yay!
Friends and Shells
I was inspired by the colors at TGIF.
First, I cut the card base from Basic Gray Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, and used the Seashells Embossing Folder to emboss the card front. Then, I use a Nature’s Thoughts Die to cut a rectangle from Night Of Navy cardstock, and glued it to the center of the card front.
Next, I stamped the large shell in Night of Navy Ink on Basic White Cardstock, added a touch of Smoky Slate with a Stampin’ Blend, and used my Paper Snips for cutting. Then, I stamped the sand dollar and starfish in Basic Gray Ink, and used their Seaside Shell Dies for cutting. The seaweed was cut from Basic Gray Cardstock, using the large die you see in the first photo, from which I snipped a bit of seaweed to place around the shells.
I glued the sand dollar and seaweed flat, and attached the large shell and starfish with Dimensionals.
“Friends are like seashells…you collect them along the way,” was stamped in Basic Gray Ink, and cut with two Stitched Rectangles Dies; one that fit the words vertically, and one to shorten the rectangle horizontally.
Lastly, I embellished the scene with Opal Rounds. These pretty dots of sparkle are retiring June 30, so order them while they’re available. Clicking on them in my Product List will take you to my store for purchasing.

For today’s card, I had fun heat embossing flowers, and coloring them with Stampin’ Blends.
First, I stamped the flower from the Color & Contour Stamp Set in VersaMark on Basic White Cardstock. Next, I sprinkled the three flowers with White Embossing Powder, and set them with the Heat Tool. You can tell when they are set, because the dull powder becomes shiny. Then, I used a Scalloped Contours Die for cutting, which was the hardest part.
A tip is to stamp the flowers in the same direction, and once you match the die to the petals, keep the die that way to cut all the flowers.
Heat Embossed Flowers
Second, I colored the flowers with Stampin’ Blends in three colors: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Flirty Flamingo. I used the light Stampin’ Blend for the petals, and the dark Stampin’ Blend for the centers. This is especially fun, because the embossing gives a raised edge, and the color just melts to the lines.
For the background, I used a piece of the new, Pattern Party Designer Paper. You’ll find it in the back of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, on the Host & Earn pages, 170-71. You get 48 sheets for $18.00 ($30.00 value) with a qualifying order.
I cut a 5 1/2″ X 1 1/2″ piece of the colorful stripe, and used a Scalloped Contours Die to trim the edge. Then, I glued it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Prior to attaching the flowers with Dimensionals, I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Ink. “So very happy for you” is from the Color & Contour Stamp Set.
The last detail was adding three Artistry Bloom Adhesive-Backed Sequins, which happens to be my host code gift for the month of June. These are great, because no glue is required, just lift and stick!

Today’s card is highlighting some new favorites, as well as continuing favorites, in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I LOVE the Meadow Dies, which were used to fill the pot.
Potted Wildflowers
I began with a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This is layered with a wonderful, new, gingham in Pale Papaya from Pansy Petals Designer Paper, 4′ X 5 1/4″.
Next, I used three of the new Meadow Dies to cut from another new, favorite, Expressions In Ink Designer Paper. It gives wonderful variation in color to the wildflowers, don’t you think?

The wood texture behind the wildflowers is In Good Taste Designer Paper, cut with an Ornate Layers Die, continuing favorites.
Now, all my wildflowers needed was a pot, which I found in Simply Succulents. I stamped the pot in Crumb Cake Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used its Potted Succulents Die for cutting. Then, I gave it some color with a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend, and rounded it with my fingers while it was damp. It’s attached with Dimensionals, just in the middle, so it will stay rounded.
“Friend” is from the new Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set, stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I used a Meadow Die for cutting the cute, little, tag, tied Linen Thread through the hole, and attached it with a Dimensional.

I wasn’t sure what would develop when I began today’s project. Beginning with a Blending Brush, I added Soft Succulent Ink to create an ombre effect of color on Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″.
Once satisfied, I used an Ornate Layers Die to cut the colored paper into five sections. Then, I glued four of the sections to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, leaving a space between the first and second sections.
The space was filled in with Basic White Cardstock, cut with another Ornate Layers Die, which provided a base for the word “HELLO.”
Ombre Technique
To create the word, I used Playful Alphabet Dies, Foam Adhesive Sheets, and Pansy Petals Designer Paper.
First, I cut a 1″ strip of Foam Adhesive Sheet, and a 1″ strip of designer paper. Then, I peeled one side of the Foam Adhesive Sheet and adhered the designer paper to it. Next, I placed the letter dies on top of the designer paper, and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, right side up one time, and upside down a second time. Then, I carefully removed the letters from the dies, peeled the backing, and stuck the letters to the Ornate die-cut. I measured ahead of time, so I knew the letters would fit the space.
To complete my card, I fussy cut a pansy from the Pansy Petals Designer Paper, and glued it in place.

I’ve been looking forward to playing with the Artistically Inked Bundle, and today is the day. The fact that it’s on the cover of the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog is an indication that it was expected to be a winner. There is a digital copy of the catalog, under my profile picture, that you can download to your computer.
I was excited to get started, and used an Artistic Die to cut the leaves from Thick Basic White Cardstock. Then, I stamped an Artistically Inked flower in Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight Inks on Basic White Cardstock, and used its Artistic Die for cutting.
Don’t you love the watercolored look? And, it’s so easy!
Artistically Inked
The background for my flowers and leaves was easy also. I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used three Stitched Rectangles Dies, so measuring wasn’t required. I used the largest one to cut from black & white, True Love Designer Paper, the second largest to cut from Magenta Madness Cardstock, and the third largest to cut from Basic White Cardstock.
Next, I stamped “thanks,” from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, in Stazon Black Ink.
Prior to glueing the layers together, I used a Meadow Moments Embossing Folder on the white layer to add some texture. The narrow size of this embossing folder fits the third largest, Stitched Rectangle, perfectly.
Finally, I attached the leaves and flowers with a bit of glue and a few Dimensionals. The leaves on the ends were glued, but the middle leaves were left free to lift around the flowers.

Chickens say they are the best animal on the planet. If you don’t believe it, just ask them. Do cats or dogs give you eggs? No! I couldn’t argue with that, so agreed to let them be featured on an “animal” themed card.
Hey, Chick!
The Hey Chick! Stamp Set has really cute chickens, which I stamped in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. This was followed by perfect cutting with their Chick Dies. Then, I used Stampin’ Blends for coloring in three colors: Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, and Poppy Parade.
Before attaching the Chicks with Dimensionals, I prepared their background. The card base is Crumb Cake Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″ with a layer of Fine Art Floral Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and a top layer of Basic White Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″.
The fabulous, fence was created with a Chicks Die and Crumb Cake Cardstock.
I stamped the sentiments “hey, chick!” and “have a happy day!” in Memento Black Ink, and used a Chick Die for cutting the cute sign.
