Christmas In July Sneak Peek

This is an exciting day for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, because we get to see the holiday catalog for the first time!  One of the sets in the new catalog, Winterly Tree Tops, was available last month, so I’m sharing a “Christmas in July” card today. If you like birds, you’ll love this set, and I began by fussy cutting one of the birds from the Nests Of Winter Designer Paper. Then, I glued Noel (that’s her name) to a circle of Basic White Cardstock, cut with a Spotlight On Nature Die, 2 1/4″.

BREAKING NEWS: Due to worldwide internet issues, Stamping Up! is extending FREE SHIPPING through today, July 24th. It will end at midnight, and is good with a minimum $75.00 order.

Christmas in July

Noel wanted to be the main focus, and said I should layer her on top of two more Spotlight On Nature Circles, Basic White Cardstock, 3 1/4″, and Garden Green Cardstock, 3 3/4″.

Next, Noel wanted to decorate the circles with garland, which she said was in her stamp set, Winterly Tree Tops. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and colored it with Stampin’ Blends in five colors: Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, and Shaded Spruce. It was easy to cut with its Winterly Tree Tops Die, and I glued it to the white 3 1/4″ circle.

For the background, Noel chose Basic White Cardstock, embossed with the Eyelet Embossing Folder, 4″ X 5 14″. I told her it wasn’t a good choice, because it was on the “low inventory” list, but she insisted. She said people should hurry to order it, because it was perfect with the edge of her circles. I agreed, and hope the stock will be replenished, if it runs out. I glued the embossed layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Noel wanted to put the sentiment on a small, Spotlight On Nature circle, and found “to you and yours” in the Filled With Cheer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on the 1″ circle, and attached it with a Dimensional.

Noel was very happy to be featured on my first Christmas card in 2024, and wanted to enter the TGIF challenge. So, we did.

Frames & Flowers for TGIF

Today’s card was inspired by a sketch challenge at TGIF.

I began by using a Stylish Shapes Die to cut a 2 3/4″ square from Frames & Flowers Specialty Paper.  Then, I backed it for thickness, and placed it on Dimensionals. To decorate the top left corner, like the sketch, I glued three flowers that were punched out from the same specialty paper. Click on the picture in my Products List below to see details of this amazing paper. It’s scheduled to be available the week of August 5th.

Frames & Flowers

For the bottom, right corner, I stamped a sentiment in Lost lagoon Ink, and used a Stylish Shapes Die for cutting the label. “Thanks” is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. The bird perched atop the sentiment label is from the Country Birdhouse Bundle. I stamped her in Lost Lagoon Ink on Basic White Cardstock, used her die for cutting, and colored her with a Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend. Both were attached with Dimensionals, doubled under the sentiment label, to make it even.

The background is Soft Sea Foam Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″, embossed with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder. This is layered on Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, which is layered on a Soft Sea Foam card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Blooming Pearls were added as a final touch. They happen to be my host code gift for the month of July. See below, how to make them yours.

If you haven’t seen the Encircled In Nature Bundle, you should check it out in my Product List below. And, the great news is, it’s discounted 20% during the month of June!

For today’s card, I used three, Encircled In Nature Dies, to cut the wreath from two designer papers; Country Woods and Perennial Lavender.

Featuring: Encircled In Nature Bundle, Perennial Lavender DSP, Country Woods DSP, Deckled Rectangles Dies, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems; #encircledinnature #perenniallavender, #countrywoods, #deckledrectangles, #wreaths #thankyoucards #cardsketches #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking #diy #papercrafting #stampinup #stamping #sumohr #artisandesignteam

Encircled in Thanks

This was followed by cutting leaves, with another Encircled In Nature Die, from Perennial Lavender DSP. The checked paper is also Perennial Lavender, which I used to cut the sentiment label with the smallest Deckled Rectangles Die. After cutting, I stamped “a huge thank you” in Early Espresso Ink, layered it with cardstock for thickness, and placed it on Dimensionals. Prior to attaching the label, I positioned the leaves around it.

Next, I used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die to cut the checked, background paper, and glued it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The last step was embellishing with three, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

Here is the TGIF sketch.

Latte Love for Global Design Project 438

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch challenge. I’m using the new, Online Exclusive products, Latte Love, with an Annual Catalog favorite, Gorgeously Made.

I began by using two Gorgeously Made Dies to cut a pattern of A Little Latte Designer Paper. Then, I used two, Gorgeously Made stamps to stamp Basic White Cardstock, 4 ” X 5 1/4″, in Early Espresso Ink. A third stamp was used to stamp the center panel,1 7/8 X 4 7/8″, layered on A little Latte DSP, 2″ X 5″.

Latte Love

After stamping the layer, I glued it to a Lost Lagoon card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued the die-cuts and panel in place.

Next, I used a Latte Love Die to cut a coffee cup from the A Little Latte Designer Paper, and attached it with Dimensionals.

“You’re the best part of my day” is from the Latte Love Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink on A Little Latte Designer Paper. To complete the sketch, I cut a 4″ X 1 1/4″ piece, and gave it an uneven top with a Gorgeously Made Die. The final step was adding three, delicious, Adhesive Backed Swirl Dots.

See how our designers used the sketch, then create your own card, and hang it in our gallery.

I’m also sharing with TGIF.

Arty the Alligator is Back!

I made today’s card especially for my granddaughter, Lily, because she has a large, stuffed alligator, named Arty. Lily’s second birthday isn’t until the end of August, but Arty wanted to make this card when you would still be able to order his stamp set. He is in the Jungle Pals Stamp Set that you can earn for free, but only until February 29, when Sale-a-bration ends.

Arty said this would be an easy card, because all I needed to do was stamp him in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and use a Perennial Postage Die for cutting. He thought it looked like he bit the paper with his teeth, and I have to agree. After cutting, Arty said he needed to be green, like Lily’s alligator, so I used three shades of Stampin’ Blends: Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Jungle Pals Stamp Set, Perennial Postage Dies, Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set, Sweetly Scripted Stamp Set; #junglepals #sale-a-bration #balloons #perennialpostage #bithdaycards #cardsforkids #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #stamping #stampinup #artisandesignteam

Arty’s card for Lily

Next, Arty said the card base needed to be purple, Lily’s favorite color. So, I cut a Highland Heather card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I layered it with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Perennial Postage Die, for more teeth marks.

Arty wanted Lily’s birthday card to have lots of balloons, which we found in the Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set. I stamped them in three colors of Ink: Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, and Highland Heather, along with a couple strings in Memento Black Ink. This is when I surprised Arty, because I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the Sweetly Scripted Stamp Set. This is a new set that he hadn’t seen, and he thought it was perfect. It will be available in Online Exclusives March 5th, along with many new products!

Arty said he didn’t really like sequins, but thought Lily would, so I should add them. Isn’t he considerate?

Arty is excited to share his card with TGIF.

Beauty of the Deep Birthday Card

Sea life is intriguing, and our Beauty Of The Deep Stamp Set has wonderful images. I began today’s card with a 1 3/4″ Stylish Shapes Die, cutting three circles from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a Blending Brush to color them with Lost Lagoon and Granny Apple Green Ink. After coloring, I stamped the fish and dots in the same colors of ink, and placed the circles on Dimensionals.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Birthday Wishes with Fish

For the background, I stamped on Basic White Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 5 5/16″. The seaweed was stamped in VersaMark, sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool. I used the same method for the angel fish, used its Beauty Of The Deep Die for cutting, and attached it with a Dimensional.

Prior to attaching the layer, with Dimensionals, to a Lost Lagoon card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I stamped the bubbles in Pool Party Ink, and “Happy Birthday” in Lost Lagoon Ink. The bubbles and sentiment are from the Simply Sparkling Stamp Set.

Finally, I used two Sending Dies to cut “Sending” from Gold Foil, and the backing from Basic White Cardstock. After gluing the two together, I glued the center of the word on the middle circle, and propped the ends of the word on Dimensionals.

I think this card would be good for a guy, don’t you?

I was inspired by TGIF.
