When a black lab, named “Coop,” needs to be featured on a A Christmas card, this happens:

Coop
I began today’s card by using the Dog Punch to cut Coop from Basic Black Cardstock. His fur was made by rolling him through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. He loves the way his fur turned out, and didn’t seem to mind.

Coop’s Santa hat is from the Little Treats Bundle. The main part of this bundle is an adorable box that can be created from a 6X6 piece of cardstock from one die-cut, but it has lots of fun “extras” too. You can see the bundle by clicking on the picture in my Product List below. You’ll save 10% by purchasing the bundle, but the stamp set and die set can be purchased separately.
Back to the hat, which I stamped in Real Red ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with its die. I used an X-ACTO knife to make the slit in the hat, so Coop could wear it comfortably, with a tiny bit of glue to secure it. I punched a second dog to give him thickness, and placed him on Dimensionals.

For his background, the card base is Real Red Cardstock (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″), and topped with Playful Pets Designer Paper (4″ X 5 1/4″). Coop liked the idea of paw prints and red hearts.
The red and white stripe (1 1/2″ X4 1/4″) is also Playful Pets Designer Paper. The black and white (1 1/2″ X 2 1/2″) is Plaid Tidings Designer Paper, and the Whisper White Cardstock is 1 1/2″ X 1 3/4″.
Coop wanted to say, Thinking of you at Christmas,” which we found in the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, and stamped it in Real Red Ink on the white square.
I thought the card was complete, but Coop wanted a red bow, so we cut from Real Red Cardstock with a Happy Die.

The layout was inspired by TGIF.

Everyone knows that blowing on a dandelion makes wishes come true, right?
This is the first time I’ve inked up the Dandelions Embossing Folder, and I mean that literally. Let’s call this the “ink to embossing folder” technique, because that’s exactly how I created today’s card.

Dandelion Wishes
I used two Stampin’ Write Markers, Soft Suede and Granny Apple Green, and colored the indented side of the embossing folder. I used the brush side of the markers, and was careful not to go beyond the debossed image.

Next, I cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and laid it on the non-inked side of the embossing folder. Then, I carefully closed the folder, and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I repeated with a second piece of cardstock (because I was experimenting), and I like this “stamped off,” lighter version better.
To clean the embossing folder, you simply let cold water run over it, and dry it with a towel.

The sentiment, “wishes,” was cut with a Well Written Die and Blushing Bride Cardstock, that I placed on a Foam Adhesive Sheet. I matched the word to the Blushing Bride card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″).

I was inspired by the colors at TGIF.

If you haven’t seen the Whale of a Time Designer Paper, you need to check it out in my Product List below. It really is amazing!
It’s a warm (some would say hot) day in San Diego, so an ocean themed card was a natural.
The first thing I did was cut a heart from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, using a Be Mine Stitched Die. It’s the one where the widest part is 2 1/2″. Then, I stamped the sentiment, “My love for you is bigger than the ocean,” in Pretty Peacock Ink.

The heart called for some texture, so I embossed it with the Seabed Embossing Folder, which was perfect for my ocean theme. I love how you can emboss over a sentiment, and it’s still legible.

For the background, I cut a piece of Whale of a Time Designer Paper with the largest Layering Frames Die. The seahorses are in an ocean, with a matching, Balmy Blue card base.
Next, I fussy cut the whale and turtle, also from Whale of a Time Designer Paper, and glued their “faces” to the heart. Before attaching the three to the card front, I gave the ocean some sparkle with a 4 1/2″ piece of Metallic Mesh Ribbon. Fun stuff!
The last detail was adding three sequin bubbles coming from the whale’s blowhole.

I was inspired by TGIF.

We always need more birthday cards. Right? Today’s birthday card is pink, but you could recreate it in YOUR favorite color.

Huge “Happy”
Today’s birthday card has a Magenta Madness card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) and a layer of Basic Black Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″).
There’s a cute, little balloon in the Special Someone Stamp Set that I thought would be a good size for my huge “HAPPY.” I began by stamping the balloon’s outline in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock (1/8″ smaller than the Basic Black Layer), letting some of the balloons float off the card. After stamping the strings, I used the solid balloon stamp to fill in “stamped off” ink shades of Magenta Madness and Melon Mambo.
I wanted “HAPPY,” from the Happy Dies set, to have dimension, so used a Foam Adhesive Sheet (4″ X 1 1/2″), and Magenta Madness Cardstock, cut the same size. I placed the die on top, ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, peeled off the backing, and attached it to the card front. It was so much easier than attaching with tiny pieces of Dimensionals!

To complete the sentiment, I stamped “birthday,” from the Well Written Stamp Set, in Memento Black Ink, and used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting.

My layout was inspired by TGIF. Actually, the colors and theme too!

Who said sunflowers can’t be pink and purple? I had fun with the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle and my Water Painters! You can follow along for instructions, and see my supplies in the Product List below. The stamp set and dies can be purchased separately, but you’ll save 10% by purchasing the bundle.

Colorful Sunflowers
Today’s Step-by-Step Instructions:
Cut Thick Whisper White Cardstock to 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, fold in the middle at 4 1/4″ to make your card base.
Cut regular weight, Whisper White Cardstock to 4″ X 5 1/4″.
The sentiment, “Thanks A Bunch,” is from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set, stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink. You will stamp it in the middle of the layer, but wait until you complete the flowers to make sure it isn’t hidden by their petals.

Stamp one sunflower in Magenta Madness Ink, and one in Gorgeous Grape Ink, on Shimmery White Cardstock. Use the Water Painter tool (medium brush) to watercolor the flowers.
How? Dip the brush on the ink pad, then squeeze the water painter over scratch paper until water fills the brush. Swipe it across the scratch paper to see the color you will get, paint away, and repeat.
I fussy cut the flowers to eliminate the white border, but there is a die for cutting, if you prefer. Plus, you could paint beyond the outline, so the border would be colored. Or, you could cut first, then paint. Lots of options.
Use the outline die (in the first photo) to cut two sunflowers from Whisper White Cardstock. Attach them to the watercolored flowers with glue, just around the circular portion, leaving the petals free.
Glue the flowers in each corner of the layer, and trim the overhang with Paper Snips. I applied glue (on the back of the flowers) along the corner to the end of the circle, leaving the petals free, so they could be lifted.

Stamp the three leaves in Bermuda Bay Ink, cut with their die, and attach. I glued two flat, and raised one on Dimensionals.

I was inspired by two challenges. My colors are from TGIF.

And, my layout is from CAS(E) this sketch.

A basket of flowers can stay fresh for a long time, when made with paper.
All you need is the Basket Of Blooms Stamp Set, and the Small Bloom Punch. I happen to have an extra Small Bloom Punch, and I will send it to the first person who places a 100.00 order with me, and contacts me with their name and address.
It won’t be hard to find $100.00 of items you want, because this is the day, August 4th, everyone can order from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog! Yipee!

Even if you aren’t my first customer to order, you’ll still receive my August Host Code Gift for a qualifying order, and a chance to win the drawing prize. You’ll find all the details below, plus instructions for today’s card.

Basket Of Blooms.
Instructions
First, make the tablecloth with the Buffalo Check Background Stamp. Place the stamp on the Stamparatus lid, apply Pear Pizzazz Ink and stamp on Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. I inked and stamped several times to get good coverage.
Cut a section with the long, rectangle die from Ornate Layers.

Stamp the basket from the Basket Of Blooms Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock. Fussy cut the basket, and color it with Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends.
Stamp five flowers in Bumblebee Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, color with a Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, and use the Small Bloom Punch for cutting. I stamped the center with a tiny stamp from the retired stamp set, Thoughtful Blooms, and Cinnamon Cider Ink. If you don’t have the stamp set, you can improvise.

Use the Well Written Die to cut the word “friend” from Crumb Cake Cardstock. Be careful not to lose the “i.”

Make the card base with Crumb Cake Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Cut a layer from Whisper White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″.
Now that you have all the pieces, arrange them, so you can see where to stamp the six leaves, in Pear Pizazz Ink, on the white layer. Color the leaves with a Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend, and glue the layer to the card base.
Glue the tablecloth, “friend,” and one flower flat. Place the basket and four flowers on Mini Dimensionals, and attach.
Now all you need to do is decide which friend will be receiving this lovely “basket of blooms.”

I was inspired by TGIF.
