The theme this month is “congratulations,” and the first thing I thought of was congratulating friends on the purchase of a new home. It’s such an exciting time, and an important event to celebrate.
For today’s project, I needed something to represent a home, and I found the perfect house in the Hometown Greetings die set. I wanted the house to shine, so I die cut the house from a sheet of Silver Foil.
The second thing I thought of was the “congrats” die from the Sunshine Wishes die set. How would I use the word? I’m a DSP gal, meaning, I love using Stampin’ Up’s Designer Series Paper. A paper series named Petal Promenade was calling to me, where I found an interesting, realistic wreath to surround my silver house.
Next, I thought it would be cool to use the eclipse technique with the word, “congrats,” cutting through the top of the wreath. To blend with the DSP, I chose Smoky Slate cardstock for the card base, layered with Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
The sentiment, “On your new home,” is from the At Home with You stamp set. A label die from the Merry Christmas die set was used for cutting. A Bouquet Bunch die cut the pretty flowers from another piece of the Petal Promenade DSP, and I topped the flowers with pearls.
I completed the inside with a sentiment from the Better Together stamp set. “May life be filled with fond memories.” And, the envelope flap is decorated with a piece of Nature’s Poem DSP in Blackberry Bliss.
I’ve enjoyed sharing today’s project with you. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I wish you a life filled with fond memories!

I love how you eclipsed the Congrats! I had to totally read through your post to figure out this card as it looks SO realistic!! My guess was that you took apart a boxwood wreath, but then still couldn’t figure out the words!! Love it!
Could explain how to do eclipse technique? It is such a beautiful card!!! Thank you.
Hi Robin,

Card is beautiful. I also enjoy the more traditional colors of Christmas. The way you layered the oval was brilliant!
The voting link took me to Kylie’s site but no voting page was available. Maybe the link is broken in your email? This happens to us at my work. If it gets fixed, let me know so I can vote for you. Thx!
