This week’s Global Design Project is a theme: “Brrr, cold.” Please join in the fun, and create a winter themed project. Then, post it on social media, and tag it #gdp523, so everyone can see it.

I began my winter card by stamping snowflakes, from the Delicate Pines Stamp Set, on Beautiful Bokeh Designer paper. I used two colors of ink: Fresh Freesia for the larger stamp, and Bubble Bath for the smaller stamp. After stamping, the largest Branching Out Die was used for cutting, which I layered with Bubble Bath Cardstock for thickness. Then, I used the So Swirly Embossing Folder to give it texture.

Next, I used a Delicate Pines Die to cut the middle, stamped, snowflake. Prior to re-attaching the snowflake with Dimensionals, I added pine branches to the back. These were cut with a Delicate Pines Die from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a Branching Out Die to cut sprigs from Silver Foil, and glued them in place.

Warmest Winter Wishes

“Warmest Winter Wishes” is from the Delicate Pines Stamp Set, stamped in Fresh Freesia Ink, cut with a Textured Notes Die, and glued on top of the snowflake. After attaching the art piece to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″,  I added three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, as a final touch.
