Welcome to February 1st, the month of Valentines. I love using hearts on cards year-round, but I go “heart crazy” in January and February. It was my mother’s favorite holiday, and I know she would like this card.

Strung Hearts

Before I explain today’s card, I want to congratulate the winner of my January Drawing…..Yay, Sherriann F.!  You will receive a $20.00 or less Stampin’ Up! item of your choice from the current catalogs, so contact me with your choice.

All of my customers who ordered a minimum of $50.00 will receive the Whale Of A Time Sequins, plus one of my handmade cards, as soon as I receive my order from Stampin’ Up!

You can see my February gift offering below today’s card description.

Now, for today’s Valentine. First, I used a Textured Essentials stamp to give the three hearts a pretty, floral, pattern. I stamped them in Sahara Sand Ink, Rococo Rose Ink, and Blushing Bride Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock.

After stamping, I used a Stitched Be Mine Die for cutting, and punched two holes in each heart, stringing them with Linen Thread.

The backgound was created with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die, and embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

Before gluing the white layer to the Sahara Sand card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″), I attached the hearts with Dimensionals, and taped the Linen Thread to the back.

The sentiment is from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set, stamped in Sahara Sand Ink, and cut with a Potted Succulents Die. The complete sentiment is “made with love just for you,” but I eliminated “just for you” by masking (covering with paper) the words when I stamped.

To complete my Valentine, I added a few Woven Threads Sequins.

My inspiration for today’s Valentine was from the Global Design Project. They are perfect colors for Valentines, don’t you think? We’d love to see the cards you create, with these colors, hanging in our gallery. Please join in the fun!
