Sometimes I like to let the outstanding Designer Series Paper do all the work. This paper is from Wood Textures, and the sawn trees are so interesting, Stampin” Up! even made a background stamp like this, named Tree Rings.

The theme at Global Design Project this week is “for him.” No one could deny this card speaks to a man. Could they?

All I needed to do was add “Happy Birthday” using the Thinlits Die. I cut the words twice; once with Basic Black, and once with Very Vanilla for thickness and shadowing. I glued the words together, and glued the words to the DSP.

Before gluing the DSP to the Very Vanilla card base, I wound several strands of linen thread around the side and tied a bow. I know, bows aren’t generally thought of as masculine, but I think the Linen Thread makes it okay.

If you look closely, you’ll see I dotted the “i” in birthday with a metallic enamel star. And, I think that’s masculine too!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I realize that feminine, flowery things are much more popular, but men love it when we try to please them with their preferences. Don’t they?
