Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month’s Stampin’ Pretty Pals Blog Hop is all about the men in our lives, because they deserve handmade cards too! Whether you’re creating for a dad, husband, son, grandson, brother, or friend, this hop is packed with ideas to help you craft something special.

Men like to be outside, and many enjoy gardening, so I chose the Help Me Grow Bundle.

Help Me Grow

I began by cutting the green plants, with Help Me Grow Dies, from two different designer papers: Splendid Autumn and Lovely Blossoms. Using designer paper is an easy way to add variation in color, and texture.

Next, I used a Blending Brush to apply Timid Tiger Ink to Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a Help Me Grow Die to cut the clay pot, and placed it on Dimensionals. The pot has a slit for the plants to fit inside!

For the background, this bundle works well with Wood Grain Wonder Designer Paper in its wonderful shades of brown. The Early Espresso shade, 3 3/34 X 5″, is layered with a Crumb Cake shade 1/8″ smaller. The “dirt,” in a Pecan Pie shade, was layered along the bottom, cut with a Help Me Grow die at the top. Then, the layers were glued to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“Thanks” is from the Help Me Grow Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink on a Basic Beige shade of Wood Grain Wonders DSP, and used a Help Me Grow die for cutting. Isn’t the sign cute?

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope my project inspired you to create something special for the guys in your life. Be sure to continue along the hop for even more inspiration from the Stampin’ Pretty Pals. Next month will be Flowers in Bloom, so mark your calendars!
