Do you like trying new stamping techniques? The Kre8tors May 2019 Blog Hop is highlighting techniques, so you are in for a treat!
I’ve chosen to share with you the “spotlighting” technique. It’s fast, it’s fun, and has endless possibilities!
My idea began with the leaves from the Rooted In Nature stamp set. If you start with a fabulous stamp, it’s hard to go wrong. The leaves are from a “Distinktive” stamp set, which has intricate detail, making the images look like photographs. I stamped the two sizes, randomly, with Black ink on a piece of 4″ X 5 1/4″ Whisper White cardstock.
Next, I used a Layering Circle die to cut out a circle from my stamped piece. And, I cut a slightly larger, scalloped, circle from Basic Black cardstock. Next, came the coloring, which Stampin’ Blends made very easy. Just go slowly to avoid coloring over the outside lines. The colors are named in my Product List below.
After coloring, I glued this piece to the scalloped circle. Then, I glued the black and white leaves to a Basic Black card base, and replaced the circle of colored leaves.
TIP: Make sure the the lines are matching.
For the sentiment, I chose “amazing,” from the Celebrate You die set. This word would fit the intent of the card, and looked just right, cut from Basic Black cardstock.
The sentiment was continued on the inside with “YOU,” and “happy birthday.” “Happy Birthday” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.
The die cut words are from the Celebrate You set, which I’m sad to say, is retiring. If you like paper words, like I do, you should order this set while it’s still available. Clicking on the picture in my Product List will take you to my store for purchasing. I appreciate you shopping with me!
