First of all, Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you for taking time to visit me on this very special day.

And, now for this week’s  Paper Players fun, color challenge. I created lovebirds with one of my favorite “carry-over” products, a Botanical tags die.

Lovebirds

Here are Joanne’s colors:

I began with a Thick Whisper White card base, and embossed the front with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. Next, I used a Rectangle Stitched die to cut a piece of Brights 6X6 DSP in Granny Apple Green. A smaller Rectangle die was used to cut out the middle, forming a frame. Then, I backed the frame with Pool Party cardstock.

My focal point is the bird cage, made with the Botanical Tags die. I made three cuts; one from Thick Whisper White cardstock, one from Lovely Lipstick, and one from Daffodil Delight. Can you see how I turned my white birds into red and yellow? I simply snipped the birds from the Botanical Tags die cuts, and glued them on top of the white birds.

Since these are two lovebirds, I wanted to say, “Happy Anniversary,” and chose the font from the Best Birds stamp set. After stamping it in Granny Apple Green, I used a Petals & More die for cutting, and placed it on Dimensionals.

The tie at the top is Old Olive Linen Thread, but it can pass for Granny Apple Green. Right?

The last detail was a little, enamel heart in Pool Party.

Thank you for stopping by today. When you look at my Product List, keep in mind that several of the items are retiring: Best Birds, Petals & More, 6X6 DSP, and the Old Olive Linen Thread. Order now, so you won’t be disappointed when the supply is depleted.
