Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Fun Ways to Use Your Stampin’ Up! Products” where we show our favorite product tips. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

First of all, I love to stencil on cards, because it’s so much fun! Today’s project shows how I used a die as a stencil, and made a “twofer” (two for one).

Stenciling “twofer”

I began with one of the fabulous, Artistic Dies, the swooping leaves, cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock, 3″ X 5 1/4″.

While holding the die-cut leaves in place, on Basic White Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″) I applied a rainbow of color with Blending Brushes. Starting at the top: Gorgeous Grape, Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, and Bermuda Bay.

The stencil moved while changing colors, but I was able to re-position it before brushing on the next color.

After coloring, I glued my rainbow leaves layer to a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Now, all I needed was a sentiment, and I used the words, “love you” from the Love You More Than Die Set. I cut the words from Basic White Cardstock and Smoky Slate Cardstock, glued them together, and then glued them to the card front. You can barely see the Smoky Slate layer, but I like the distinction it gives to the words.

While completing the first card, I was planning the second one, because I had been looking at the gorgeous, die-cut, rainbow leaves. I glued them to Basic White Cardstock, cut with an Ornate Layers Die, the one that’s 2 1/2″ X 5 1/2″. The stems and base of the leaves were glued, while leaving most of the leaves free to lift.

Next, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.

This sentiment is from the Beauty Of Friendship Stamp Set. I stamped “Thinking of you” in Smoky Slate Ink, cut with a Beautiful Trees Die, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.

I had to add a touch of sparkle with Artistry Blooms Sequins, because the colors were perfect!

There was still one piece remaining from my die-cut, that I didn’t toss in the trash. Remember the original 3″ X 5 1/4″ Thick Basic White Cardstock? Come back tomorrow to see my third card. I guess you could call it a “threefer?”

Thank you for hopping by. I hope you enjoyed my instructions. You’ll find the supplies I used for today’s project in my Product List below.
