This week’s Global Design Project gave me the “kickstart” I needed on this Monday morning.

Connie’s pumpkins are so cute, and her design looks like she cut a small section from a large sheet of Designer Series Paper. I set out to make a Christmas card with this same look.

I thought the pretty tree from the Carols of Christmas Bundle would be the right size. The Stampin’ Blends are so much fun to use, I decided to color the trees, rather than cutting them from DSP as I would have done in the past. I found scraps of regular Whisper White, and colored horizontally down the paper with Light and Dark Old Olive, and Dark Bermuda Bay.

Once I die cut my seven trees, I decided they would look good sitting in snow, and used the Ruffled Embossing Folder to make snowdrifts. I positioned the trees, and glued them down, except for the one in the middle that I placed on dimensionals. Before gluing my “Designer Series Paper” to the card base, I trimmed the edges of the trees. 

My middle tree called for some decoration, so I obliged by giving it tiny ornaments punched from Gold Foil.

This was all looking very merry, so I cut that word from Gold Glimmer Paper, and glued it down.

To complete the sentiment, I stamped “Christmas Wishes” (Merry Mistletoe stamp set) in Garden Green ink. And, I was able to use the top of my chopped off tree from the front of the card. I love it when that happens!
