Places In the Heart is a perfect stamp set for Mother’s Day cards, which you can see in my Product List below. Today’s card was created especially for my daughter’s first Mother’s Day celebration.
I began by cutting the parts of the wreath. The “frame” was cut from Crumb Cake Cardstock, using an Irresistible Blooms Die. This is a popular die set that was out of stock for a while, but is available again in Online Exclusives.
The three flowers were cut with Cheerful Daisies Dies from Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper, and the centers from Gold Foil. I used the same flower die to get the exact centers. The three branches, also a Cheerful Daisies Die, were cut from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock.
The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
The sentiment, “when a child is born, so is a mother,” is from the Places In The Heart Stamp Set. I stamped it in Crumb Cake Ink, and used the smallest circle in the Stylish Shapes Die Set for cutting, and was delighted that it fit perfectly.
I was inspired by TGIF.
