For this week’s Global Design Challenge, we get to CASE Angela Meiritz-Reid. Clicking on her card will take you to the site where you’ll see all the designer’s interpretations of her card.

I chose the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, thinking it would make a pretty background of Memento Black Ink stamped on Basic White Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 5 1/8″.

The spray of dots was created by flicking the brush end of a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend against the cap. When I do this, it’s done in the laundry room sink.

Nature’s Harvest Edge

For a prominent flower, I used a Harvest Die to cut the flower from Flowering Fields Designer Paper, and backed it with cardstock for thickness. While doing this, I noticed the stem was perfectly straight, and would make a great edge. How fun! This led to cutting 3/4″ off the card front of a normal A2 card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued half of the flower to the card front, along the stem.

The sentiment, “thank you,” is also from the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, and cut with a Harvest Die. I stamped the words in VersaMark on Basic Black Cardstock, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool. This is called “heat embossing,” a very exciting technique for those new to stamping. I’ll never forget the first time I tried it!

After attaching the sentiment with Dimensionals, I added three Artistry Blooms Sequins, and my CASE was complete.
