I’ve been waiting to use this fabulous partridge, until I was inspired by a sketch. Today was the day. If you need a perfect card to send to your true love on the first day of Christmas, this is it!
Yes, I had to begin with a Pear Pizzazz card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. I layered this with Whisper White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, that I embossed with one of the Greenery Embossing Folders.
Next, I stamped the pear, from the Arrange A Wreath Stamp Set, in Pear Pizzazz Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, 4″ X 2 1/4″. After stamping the rows of pears, I added detail to the top and bottom with an Ornate Borders Die. These long narrow dies can bend when rolling through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, but they can be gently bent flat again.
The additional branch was cut from Thick Whisper White Cardstock with a Forever Flourishing Die. I glued the branch across the pears, so the partridge would have more foliage. You can see the die in the first photo.
Now for the partridge from the Arrange A Wreath Stamp Set. I used the “ink to stamp” technique with the Stamparatus, coloring the partridge stamp with Stampin’ Writes in Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede, then pressing onto Whisper White Cardstock. Afterwards, the partridge die from the Wreath Builder Die Set, was used for cutting. You can see the Arrange A Wreath Bundle in my Product List below, which includes the stamps and dies, for a 10% savings.
The partridge is resting on the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set. I stamped it in Crumb Cake Ink and used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. After gluing the bottom of the bird to the rectangle, I attached them with Dimensionals.
My inspirational sketch was from CAS(E) this sketch.

Hey Sue great card again! I love it! Best card I’ve seen with this set!
Thanks for sharing. Love the card, and another idea to use the stamp set..
Always love it, when the set can be used many other ways.
oops, its a quail , not a partridge
It must be a rare, plumed partridge.
Oh Su, when I saw your card today I got goosebumps on my arms! This card is so totally me. I lost my large pear tree from a storm. Every year I harvested over 100 pears. Will miss her for sure. At my second Home I have lots of quail running all over the place in south Texas. I can hear them saying “wet my lips”.
Thank you, Stella! Happy to give you goosebumps! Sorry you lost your pear tree.
