How do you like my Patent Leather Painted Poppies?

Patent Leather Poppies
I’m calling the poppies “patent leather,” because I cut the “frames” from Black Foil that looks just like patent leather. I used the die from the Poppy Moments die set for cutting, which made it very easy to do.
I wanted the sentiment to be shiny like the “frames,” so I used VersaMark and Black Embossing Powder. “Hello” (Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set) was stamped on Whisper White Cardstock, sprinkled with the powder, and set with the Heat Tool.
TIP: I stamped the sentiment first, in case it didn’t stamp just right, and used the Embossing Buddy to improve my chances. You can see in this close-up, there’s still room for improvement! Fortunately, the camera picks up more than the naked eye, so the stray powder won’t be seen by the recipient.
I used the “splotch” and “splatter” stamps from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set for the red and pink colors. The “splotch” is in Melon Mambo Ink and Lovely Lipstick Ink, which I stamped several times without re-inking. The “splatter” is Melon Mambo, stamped-off in two places.
After placing the poppy “frames” on Dimensionals, I added a few black jewels from my stash.
Today’s colors are from the Paper Players.
I’m also sharing with the “let it grow” theme at Global Design Project.
My store is open for business, and I’ve started offering a free gift to everyone who orders $50.00-149.00 within a month. If you use my Host Code, U463KNM3, February’s gift is the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder. I would love to send this to you in March.
