This week’s CAS(E) this sketch #229 was intriguing. I wanted to replicate the rectangular shapes, but I wasn’t sure of the measurements. After trial and error, I cut four pieces at 2″X 3/4″ and two at 1 3/4″ X 3/4″ from Crumb Cake cardstock. Wanting them to look like boards, I used the Pinewood Planks embossing folder. To make the wood grain stand out, I daubed them with Chocolate Chip ink.

I decided on a Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper in the color of Tranquil Tide for the background. This was coordinated with a layer of Whisper White on a Tranquil Tide card base. I put dimensionals on the wood planks, and placed them carefully to avoid getting splinters. I cut the branch from Tranquil Tide with a Seasonal Layers die, and the blossoms from the same die set. The blossoms are also from Delightful Daisy DSP, which you can see at the bottom of the photo.

“Thanks” is from the At Home With You stamp set, which is becoming a favorite for its many, small sentiments that fit in the cute rectangular board. The final touch was a bow of Linen Thread. Thank you CTS for the inspiration!
