This Christmas tree from the Santa’s Sleigh die set adorned many of my cards last year, but it has been reborn with postage stamps. They happen to be 13 cent United States Christmas stamps from 1976.
The design for my card was inspired by Global Design Project’s challenge.
I used Always Artichoke for the card base, layered with striped Designer Series Paper, and Whisper White, embossed with the Quilt Top Textured embossing folder.
I chose Linen Thread to tie around the bottom, before gluing it all together.
I’m having fun with postage stamps that have been stashed away in a box. Click on my postage stamp bird for more details:
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
SO clever! I used to save these old stamps. Wish I had some now! Thanks for the idea, Su!
Thanks Patti! I’m so glad you liked it!
Thanks Karen! Sad to see the decline of stamp collecting, but I haven’t done anything with it for 15 years. Now I have a new use for it!
This is just awesome! So creative with such a beautiful end product. You must have a huge collection of stamps. I followed my father’s love for stamp collecting when I was a child but dropped it years ago, so my stash isn’t very big! I just love this idea!
Lovely and very creative concept.
Thank you so much, Debra!
